Well, consider loads of films in living color that invoke the sonic palette of the Golden Age of Rock and Roll, like Hairspray, Dirty Dancing, The Blues Brothers, Stand By Me, and so on. Then there's also the song that's in just about every stupid ad for a "kids go wild" summer throwaway movie:

I know we've done TV themes, so I was wondering about "Songs from Films". Not necessarily theme tunes or full film scores but a song which was prominent in a film whether written for the film or pre-existing?

Hmmm..that would require a lot of research. I'd be up for just movie themes or scores!

If it was movie themes/scores, it'll be a battle between Quincy Jones - John Williams - Danny Elfman - Elmer Bernstein!

No joke about Elmer Bernstein, there, as he went from doing the themes to the B-movies Robot Monster and Cat Women on the Moon to then do The Man with the Golden Arm and The Ten Commandments and beyond. One of my favorite movie composers.

Could have separate lists for existing songs used in films and movie theme music proper.
