Albums - What's Coming in 2025?

Heck, I didn't realize Robin Trower was still releasing music. I live a sheltered life

His "Joyful Sky" from 2023 was a great album, well worth getting. I got mine from Bandcamp.

Following up on Mr. Trower's latest... it didn't grab me the same way as did Joyful Sky, but it is still a pleasant listen. I might need to have it grow on me, we'll see.

The Supernaughty album was OK, but not great. Couple of good riffs, but nothing that got me really going.

This year is pretty sparse for releases, it seems.

Sky Valley Mistress' album got through the test pressing phase. I feel good about getting a SVM album this year.

Got that message too...won't be buying the test pressing though! Not that I'd have a chance. However I WILL preorder the vinyl though...only 100 available on bandcamp so hopefully I'll get my hands on one.

Although I'm digital-only, this kind of stuff makes me happy. It's art the way the artist wants it, not some corporate ghoul's idea of what's commercially viable product.

Glad to see The Marlboro Men got a record out this year, I like their brand of instrumental stoner metal. This one's strong, for sure.

So, to wrap up... I got four (4) new albums this year, so they all easily make it to my top 5 list.

I picked up:

1. The Marlboro Men - The Riddle of Steel
2. Stacy Crowne - Second to None
3. Don Airey - Pushed to the Edge
4. Rosetta Stone - Nothing Is Sacred

That's it. All my other acquisitions were old disco, funk, soul, doo-wop, rock, and gospel for my radio shows and general fun times. I played each of the above four a good number of times, each is pretty dang good. Of the four, the one by The Marlboro Men will likely get played the most because it's great for long drives. I can just take the four albums I have of theirs, drop them in the player, and keep myself happily awake for hours.

Looking forward to 2026, we have some good stuff on the way.

Already looking at 2 new albums for 2026: The Damned and Megadeth. Possibly a new Hawkwind album which in recent years gets announceed in February!

ALICE COOPER - The Revenge of...

Savage Master - Dark & Dangerous

Savage Master was excellent Alice was very good.

Then one new old song from Cathedral and the boxset from Dream Theater...

That's pretty much it...will check better soon..

On what will come out next year...

Well I know from trusted sources Tony Iommi is putting finishing touches on a new solo album right now so that most likely will come out next year and that will be something to look forward to.

Death Angel's long awaited new album will NOT be arriving next year...arse.

Anthrax on the otherhand is FINALLY getting their album out!

Ofcourse the new Megadeth will kick the year off...and I'm expecting this doing a Saxon on us and it might be the top album of the year right off the bat.

Rob Zombie's new album The Great Satan is coming

Blaze Bayley might get a new album out...but it is bit unlikely. But he does work really fast so who knows....

Savatage is a possibility...

Metal Church is coming

Saxon is more than possible.

Solitude Aeturnus unlikely but possible

Black Label Society is potentially doing a new album, they have done few tracks already...


So there are some possibilities.

I did forget to mention one 2025 album DREAM THEATER's Parasomnia which I have not gotten yet but it is a good one...and I will be getting it when I'm going to pick up Megadeth.

Here's another one, which is currently my most anticipated release for next year: Queen II reissue.  Thus far it appears it will be similar to the reissue of their self-titled debut album, which was re-titled Queen I for it's re-release.
