Cliff was brilliant. What a tragic loss to the music world his passing was...indeed.

Both his writing and his playing are sorely missed.

Sad to read of the passing of Marsha Zazula at just 68. The importance of what her and husband Jonny did for metal in establishing their own record label Megaforce Records and signing bands other labels wouldn’t touch can’t be overstated enough. Particularly in launching the career of Metallica and other important thrash bands Anthrax, Overkill and Testament.

That is sad indeed....Megaforce was instrumental in launching the whole thrash metal scene.

Who said Metallica's never had a good drummer?

Cause they did! Well for one show anyways:

This aired a couple of nights ago on the Stephen Colbert late show celebrating Master of Puppets 35th Anniversary.

Considering these guys are approaching their 60’s this is a pretty dam killer performance.

Pretty good...bit sterile but that's to be expected for studio live.

I have been listening to a lot of Tankard and Destruction. I think that both bands that have made very few bad albums and still are putting out epic Thrash Metal to this day.

Anyone else who is a fan of Teutonic Thrash Metal?? Maybe other bands of the big Four, Kreator or Sodom are more your thing. Personally I love all four of them.

Yes I’m a big fan too. Kreator always stood out to me though. Still killing it today.

Love early Sodom as well. They were game changers. Had a big influence on the extreme metal scene that followed. All of them did really. Great bands.

On another note. Interesting times ahead for Megadeth, in particular David Ellefson. His career is probably over with what’s swirling around the internet at the moment.

Kreator is still killing it for sure, and some wicked live albums from them lately as well. For me Destruction is the ultimate of the four and I think their still delivering the goods to this day.

I was not aware that DE was in trouble - will go look around the net.

I wonder if DE can survive this one?? I read he has been married for 27 years now, hope that is able to survive at least for his kids. Thanks for the heads up Jack.

I can’t see him surviving this. Whether he’s broken any laws or not it’s an extremely embarrassing situation for him and his family.
