The Chiefs and Taylor Swift beat up the Busted Broncos last night. Does Swift count against the salary cap? :smug:

I watched that game, and a bit of the lead up to it. Hilarious how our local sportcasters had a Taylor Swift watch going on..."Well Bob, her private jet is en route to MCI, so looks like she is coming to KC"..."Gene, her jet just landed and a limo is picking her up on the tarmac:..."Taylor has arrived at Arrowhead Stadium".

LOL

The Chiefs played a middling game against the derelict Broncos, our kicker got a workout but we couldn't execute in the red zone against the league's worst defense. Hrm...Although Kelce deported himself admirably, his performance no doubt bouyed by the presence of his girlfriend. :)

Dang, those Broncos. Peyton jinxed himself by running down Nat Hackett pre-season. I think one of his comments was that there is nothing wrong with Wilson, et.al. and that the failure was all management. So, how now brown cow? Travis Kelse had better numbers in the first half than the entire Denver offense. Wilson finished the game with a third of the passing yards as Mahomes. If Peyton holds true to his thought process, I guess he's the fuck-up.

Yeah, Peyton really ran his mouth hard and wrote a check Russell Wilson can't cash.

This past Sunday saw the Chiefs host the Chargers for a game that turned out to be pretty good. First half was meh, but both teams ramped up in the second half and KC actually played like the defending SB champs. Mahome's brother Jackson was there, but not down on the sidelines clowning for the cameras like he usually does.

I wonder if that's because he's trying to scoop up Kelce's girlfriend (he was in the family suite with Taylor Swift) or because he's facing three felony charges for assault on a woman and was told to stay the F away from his brother? Hrm...:)

We did get a Taylor Swift update during the play-by-play, indicating this would probably be the last game she attends because she's going out on tour - BUT that Kelce will be attending some of her shows. Thank bejeebus!

One thing is for sure, the music industry absolutely dwarfs the NFL, both in terms of money generated and fans. They said that every time Taylor Swift has attended a Chief's game in KC, the local economy got a $100,000,000 bump. She is one popular gal!

Re. Jackson Mahomes, probably "keep the optics clean" was his order of the day.

If Swift can do that for KC, is it only a matter of time before other teams start recruiting pop celebs to be at their games?

"And while Aaron Rodgers threw for 344 yards in his dramatic return to football, all eyes were on Lady Gaga in the box seats as she sat and waved as per her NY Jets contract..."

The Chiefs have got to be embarrassed as all get out, because the broncos rode all over them the entire game. Maybe if Taylor would have been there KC would have played like an NFL team and not like a group of random guys hooking up for some street football.

They need to sign Taylor Swift, can't let her go to some other team in free agency.

She may be able to hold onto a ball better than Hardman can.

In other news, South Africa won the rugby world cup Saturday by beating NZ by a point. I wasn't able to catch the game, damnit.

The Chiefs managed to go to Germany and beat the Dolphins - it helped that the Dolphins worked hard to beat themselves. Those last two plays of the game were embarrassing. For Miami, haha!

Oh man, KC is back in the saddle.

Cowboys can't beat a team with a winning record - for years this has been an issue with the team. Good enough to get 9-7 (now 9-8) on the backs of hapless opponents, getting no ground against teams that have their act together. Philly is the team to beat in the NFC, and Dallas didn't.

Speaking of clear leadership, while the Eagles are running away from the rest of the NFC with their lead in games, the AFC looks to have some competition for the Chiefs in the form of the Ravens and possibly also the Jaguars. But KC will not be playing them on the schedule. But they DO face the Eagles next week, in what may be the match of the season.

Yeah, Chiefs/Eagles should be a good game. If KC can at least deport themselves well, they might have another shot at the SB this season. But they have to stop having showings like they did against Denver. I mean, inconsistency is fine if you can win when it counts, but soon they are all going to count.

I heard that Jerry Jones actually passed away eight years ago but his ego wouldn't accept death so they had to transplant it into a body double.

Mooger fooger Jerry fraggen JONES dead from the neck up since 1993 razzin frazzin self-centered IDIOT...

Good gosh, it's been 30 years since Jones started letting his ego mess things up not just for himself, but every Cowboys fan, including those yet unborn! 28 years since Dallas won an NFC championship. Jones had a lot of rain in the first 6 years of running the team, but when he sent Jimmy Johnson packing in 1993, it was like he decided to irrigate the fields with the water from the cattle tank, thinking that rain just fell by itself.

Well, Jerry, dammit, sometimes you have to have a coach working for you that just pisses you off if you want to win championships.

Looking at the Dallas Cowboys history, they were in the NFC championships 14 times, 10 with Tom Landry and 4 with Jimmy Johnson/Barry Switzer. None since 1995. Most of the time, when the 'Boys are in the post-season, they lose the wild card game. Have not won a divisional playoff at all since 1995, making it only 7 times in those 28 years. 5 other years were wild card loss years, so post-season action in 12 of 28 years, with 7 of those one-and-dones. 13 seasons of .500 or less, with Jason Garrett racking up plenty of 8-8 seasons.

McCarthy's cracking seasons above .500, but there's no gas in his tank, just fumes. He can call plays well enough, but when it comes to championship time, he goes too conservative and predictable and gets beat out. What worked in 2010, everyone else has figured out and he hasn't had a fresh approach to the game since then. Those seasons after 2010 are Aaron Rogers carrying the team, not McCarthy's genius. I believe if there had been more aggressive play-calling in Green Bay after 2010, they would have had more shots at the Super Bowl, for more Rogers-Brady matchups.

There was a time when Dallas was the team to beat, season after season. The days of Landry & Dorsett are but whisps of memory.

I hadn't given it a lot of thought, but those numbers you presented portray a picture of pain that was painted with brushes of shattered dreams.
