A Tv show based on a movie or a movie based on a tv show?

For me, nearly 100% movies based on TV shows fall flat, half the Star Trek ones being the exceptions. Movies that came out of sketches almost all died hard, except the passable Good Burger, Wayne's World - only The Blues Brothers really works as a full film, and heaven forbid I should have to watch the sequel again. Not counting films that were straight to streaming like El Camino - looking at the ones with intent to earn at the box office. Also, Space Jam doesn't count because it's... different... not really based on a TV series. Same for the Monty Python or Muppet Show films, as they're more the comedy troupe doing a film rather than extending the narrative arc of a show or sketch to a long-format film.

Corner Gas: The Movie, however, was totally brilliant. Duct Tape Forever, based on the Red Green Show also worked. Oh, and Strange Brew! Loved that one! But I can't limit this choice to just Canadian shows.

But while most of the TV shows based on movies are awful, there are some gems like MASH, The Mandalorian, The Paper Chase, Cobra Kai and some pretty OK ones like Delta House, The Librarians, Mr. Belvedere, The TMNT cartoons, Stargate, Willow, Young Indiana Jones.

I'll go with the shows based on movies.

To meet the venues noise curfew you need to cut 10 minutes, do you:

Drop the encore?    or    Make some songs shorter?

Make some songs shorter - especially any newer ones. Folks come to hear the music they love, and usually the encore is the ringer song/songs.

I've had both. Both can be made to taste good, delicious even, but one of them will clear me out afterward in a most abrupt manner. I will take the insect burger with cheese.




Otto's Irresistible Dance or Tasha's Hideous Laughter?

In all my gaming years I don't think I've seen either spell cast. However, Otto's Dance is far more powerful than the laughter spell, so I'll go with that.



Doom (and it's sequels)    or    Half Life (and it's sequels)

Ohh...that's a tough one...but as much as I loved Half Life I have to go with DOOM!

(As for Otto's Dance, it's great against targets with high HP and low WIS that you have to wear down with multiple rounds of attacks... boss fightin' in BG3...)

I don't know what those are but I used to play Worms and one computer generated worm was named Dandruff and it still makes me smile so Funky Worm.
