Gillan talking about singers helps to explain how some seem to stay strong and some seem to lose their chops and need help in the studio and then mime it to a backing track on tour. Mustaine going through all his issues does go along with his vocal issues on the latest release - Dio constantly touring and keeping it going, even in clubs, explains how he stayed on top of his game to the end.
