My fave Fawlty Towers episode is "Waldorf Salad". The rage is strong in that one. :D

They could have just titled that one, "The American". I did feel a little bad for Basil when he got lambasted. A little :)

I had a crush on Connie Booth's character. Not Connie herself, but the character. Alas, twas just my imagination haha!

The Major was my favorite character. Reassuring in his confidence, even if it was not well-founded.

I did some research on the show and it seemed that it played here in the mid to late 80s so that's probably why I've missed it as I was too young at the time...

It did another run in the early 2000s in early mornings which is a reason why I missed it then....

Steve Cropper died, age 84.

Steve Cropper was the legendary axeman at Stax Studios who laid down guitar parts on hundreds, possibly thousands of songs recorded in those studios. He's done loads of amazing things with his guitar, perhaps the most recognizable is his work on Sam & Dave's "Soul Man":

He's a guitar player's guitar player. Hail and farewell, Steve Cropper!

Personally I only "know" Cropper from Blues Brothers movies and from the song Green Onions...and that's only cause Deep Purple's been doing the song for years as part of their end of the show jam!

But I am aware that he's been in about gazillion different things! Some of which I am sure I've heard but never known who was playing guitar!

Quite the legend this fellow though. May he rock in peace!
