R.I.P Meat Loaf

The big man has passed away with his family by his side, he was 74.

Marvin Lee Aday was a big character with big lungs. I didn't like everything he did but I liked enough to know that he'll be missed. Probably singing theatrical rock now with Jim Steinman up in heaven (or more likely with bats in hell! ;) ).

Wasn’t aware he was ill or anything but he never did look a picture of health throughout his career. Kinda sad the way he will be remembered in Australia though. He was the musical act at the 2011 AFL Grand Final(which I attended) and his performance was an absolute train wreck and he forever became the butt of all jokes after that which was a shame because he was much better than that, just had a bad day. Definitely left his mark with Bat Out Of Hell.

He didn't just sing ballads, he sang BALLAAAAAADSSS!!!! Powerful, powerful voice even if I didn't always like his choice of material. I wanted Bat Out of Hell to be a metallic ripper with a cover like it had... ah well...

I'm not all that familiar with Meat Loaf or his music but saddened to hear him pass non the less...74 is just too young for that.
