I got my xmas lights up the other day....which is about as far as I go with xmas stuff..

I put up two light trees in my front yard, one with red lights and one with blue. All the houses on my street, it seems, have them. They look wonderful at night, so I wanted to join in as well.

Fortunately, our cats are old enough to not want to mess with our tree. Also, the tree's lowest branches are about a meter above the floor, so there's that, too. :smug:

It'll just be me and mum this Christmas. My sister, her partner and her kids were supposed to visit for a few days next week but it looks like that will be put off until January. They live in Liverpool, my neice (who lives in London) went back to the family nest last night and this morning she got a positive Covid test! They're all vaccinated (and boosted where relevant) but you can't take anything for granted.

^Yeah COVID(by Aussie standards) is starting to rage out of control since everything opened up here but with nearly 90% of the country aged 12+ fully vaccinated they’ve promised us no more lockdowns, but new restrictions loom.

Hey just wanted to wish everyone at the community a safe and happy Christmas, I’m sorry I haven’t been around much of late but rest assured all is ok, it’s just that work and family life gets in the way every now and then. Work in particular has been crazy busy for me in recent months since lockdown lifted working 10 hours days 7 days a week so I’m really really zonked by days end but I’m having the week off between Christmas and new year so really looking forward to that.
