Don't care how it is in other parts of the board, Deep Purple is my main band and people need a place to talk about it on the Interwebs, so here it is. General DP discussion can go here, including talk of their solo projects and such-like. Discussions specific to different eras of Purple will have their own child categories of this category. Yes, I lumped Mk 1 in with Mk 4 and the JLT period, but that's life, dudes. Deal with it.

And, so help me, if you post stuff in the Black Sabbath area that deals with Ian Gillan when he was in Purple, I'm gonna drag that thread over here, come hell or high water! And I can do that, because that's a Purple album! Ha!

I'll have my eye out for Glenn Hughes stuff, too. 

OK, so there's crossover between the bands. I'm not really going to be such a stickler, but if there's enough Purple content in a thread, I'll guide it this way. Likewise, if there's a lot of Sabbath content in a thread here, I'll see about pushing it over to the Sabbath side of these forums.

Except... Slaves and Masters has the Deep Purple name on it, but it's really a Rainbow album. Complications...

Yeah, and Seventh Star says Black Sabbath despite being an Iommi solo album (as well as Eternal Idol and to some degree Headless Cross, Tyr, Cross Purposes and Forbidden. They did become somewhat a band again with T.Matin and esp. with Cozy Powell, but still... More Iommi solo). And The Devil You Know having Heaven & Hell on it despite being a Black Sabbath album. So i take that back to some degree...
