Charger's TOP 10 Sci-Fi shows

I've never been a Star Trek fan, but after last nights hockey game ended, I stumbled upon an episode that I remembered from decades ago because it was the only one I liked very much.  It was called Balance Of Terror. 

That is one of the best episodes, ever. City on the Edge of Forever is another fantastically-done episode from Star Trek.

How can you not be a fan of Star Trek??? Especially with you being into science!!! 

I'm not big on science fiction in general, but as far as Star Trek goes, most of the episodes I have seen moved a bit slow and/or were not all that interesting to me.  I have only viewed about half of them.

To be sure, Star Trek really started to go off the rails for me with the final episodes of DS:9. It was already shaky with all the "Golly, the Holodeck seems to be acting funny!" episodes.

Harlan Ellison's original script for The City on the Edge of Forever had a drug subculture going on among Enterprise crew members. Rodenberry put the kibosh on that, said that's not a thing in his universe. When I read that, I realized what was so wrong with the ST universe - it's an idealized sort of militarism, with the Enterprise as part of the Federation's Great White Fleet, making ports of call all 'round the galaxy and doing a little gunboat diplomacy, when necessary.

Deep Space Nine and Voyager are both shows I've only seen bits and pieces of...sadly...need to add them to my collection at some point.


Oh and on a happier note The Orville is getting a third sesaon! As it should. The finale was amazing.
