The first 3 artworks of the band have become iconic so  I can only advise you to contemplate the entire work of Thomas Cole, whose two concept parts "The Voyage of Life" illustrated Nighfall and Ancient Dreams. Fabulous work.

Those artworks are great.

However they don't exactly scream DOOOOOOOM though so I always thought they were bit out of place...I do ponder how many people back in the late 80s looked at those covers in a record store without knowing anything about the band and pondered what kind of music this was...also I ponder how many thought it was some kind of mellow atmospheric stuff just to have their ears blown out as soon as the opening song kicked in!
