The music of The Beatles and the Vietnam War form the backdrop for the romance between an upper-class American girl and a poor Liverpudlian artist.  A little long, but entertaining. 7/10

A rising country-music songwriter works with a fallen star to work their way to fame, causing romantic complications along the way.  Great performances all around, especially by Paltrow.  Enjoyed the film even though I am hardly a fan of the "twang" music. 7.5/10

I just listened to "Me and Tennesee" by Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow for the first time in a few years... I really don't know what I saw in it back then... it's ok but nothing special!!

I get that.  One tends to get caught up in the story of the film where a particular musical number works very well, which fools you into thinking that you have just heard a good song.  The real test comes weeks later when you listen to the song again outside of the story.  That's when you recognize the tune for what it is.  This has happened to me several times before.

I agree with a fair-to-middling rating for that film. The various stories in it just did not weave together very well. There wasn't enough focus on a key character or pair of characters that closely interacted for it to be as good as Raising Arizona or The Big Lebowski.

Nope. It's an indy drama about a man looking for conclusion after a plane crash which killed his wife and daughter. It is based on the mid air collision of a passinger jet and a cargo plane back in 2002.

No action in it what so ever. Just Arnie proving once and for all that he is much more than just the action star.

This was a laugh out loud movie  Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller were exceptional and all of the other actors did a fine job. 8/10

A recently unemployed single father struggles to get back his foreclosed home by working for the real estate broker who is the source of his frustration.  Brutal but realistic depiction of what goes on in the real estate market.  Some flaws in the story, but good performances. 7.5/10
