^^^ Have not seen that one yet but I trust your judgement on this Tyr66   :drama:

Might just have to head to the library and see if they have a copy to borrow.

Well with both of you singing it's praises I can definitely commit to watching this one. I think I wil go to the library in a few hours from now. They usually have most of the Marvel movies as they have multiple copies of each of those.

Dr Strange is 7th out of 20 on my list of MCU titles...

... it will be interesting to see if if drops or stays the same after Friday!

I'm pretty sure it'll stay. I'm sure Captain Marvel will be an entertaining and fun one (Coulson's back for heaven's sake!) but at the same time I seriously doubt it can touch anywhere near the top.

Not bad and quite enjoyable to be honest. Better than the first movie but still just as ridiculous. That is part of it's charm though. 8/10

I suspect you're correct, but I am still expecting it to be a good film.

There was a controversy about the Captain Marvel movie but I do not really understand what the uproar was about. Something about social justice warriors?????

I've heard something like that too...but from what I've gathered though the lead actress is the one who has made some stupid comments about something....haven't really followed the topic, as they can have a negative impact on the first impressions of the movie itself.

I can't find an unbiased article to link to but apparently Brie Larson "hates men" and has made comments about equality in the film industry. The hard right in America are calling for a boycott of Captain Marvel and go see Alita: Battle Angel instead... I say go and see Alita: Battle Angel as well. ;)

Set in 1950s London, Reynolds Woodcock is a renowned dressmaker whose fastidious life is disrupted by a young, strong-willed woman, Alma, who becomes his muse and lover.  Could have been a little more interesting.  6.5/10

A woman with extrasensory perception is asked to help find a young woman who has disappeared.  Despite a strong cast, courtroom flaws and nonsense behavior made this film not that enjoyable. 5/10

Very accurate story of these 2 leading up to the 1980 Wimbledon Final.  Fine performances all around. 8/10

THE FOREIGNER

Jackie Chan portrays a former special forces operative Quan whos daughter gets murdered in an IRA bombing in London and after being disappointed in the lack of results by the authoroties decided to find out the bombers himself and retaliate. Quan soon finds himself in the middle of a game of politics and long lasting grudges between the Irish and the Brits.
Pierce Brosnan plays a former IRA terrorist Liam Hennessy who has risen to some political power since his terrorist days who seemingly is trying to find out who the bombers are but in truth has a secret or two of his own and gets on the radar of Quan...and a game begins.

Jackie Chan here proves once and for all that he is much more than just a glorified stunt man and an action hero and that he can really act in a more serious role as well...And Pierce Brosnan's charisma just grows as he ages just like Chan's. Both leads preform fantastic roles and neither is quite what they seem. There is also some classic Jackie Chan stunts and fights which he still preforms all by himself and quite brilliantly I might add.

Eventhough this is much more serious and slower than what one's used to seeing from Jackie Chan the movie flows well and the acting is suberb on all sides. I would also like to mention the wonderful Orla Brady who does a great job as Hennessy's wife who has a secret of her own.

A great action thriller with a slightly more serious touch. Jackie Chan does what American action stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have both done in their later years and does it just as well here. It is great to see these old school action stars take on more serious roles as well which only reinforce their charisma.
