Nah not me. I’ve never claimed that he’s a good drummer. Was a good drummer before he was worth about 200 million.

Well, I'm definitely considering it as one of my top albums of 2020.

With every listen this album keeps growing on me more and more...

You start to understand and appreciate the complexity even more.

But at the same time you kind of do start to miss that one simple in your face hard rock song. Maybe having something with a  Bloodsucker, Fireball or Space Truckin' vibe in it would have helped to ease the listening experience a little bit.

But songs like What The What and And The Address do almost hit that mark...Oh and until Zzz pointed it out I didn't even remember the latter being a new version of an old song...that's how little I've listened to those Evans era albums...!

There's not a single bad song on the album that's for sure...even the Deep Purple goes techno track Dancing In My Sleep has a great great groove and one of the best solos from Steve!

Album of the year material?
Abso-fuckin'-lutely!

To be fair there’s not much in terms of new releases at the moment. A lot of bands that would otherwise chart have been holding back releases. There’s releases directly around Whoosh! on the UK album charts in particular that have been there for 20 weeks or longer. Lewis Capaldi sitting at #6 has been on the charts for 65 weeks, Fleetwood Mac’s album is still sitting at #9 after 91 weeks on the charts. Bob Marley at #10 after 938 weeks just for perspective.

In Australia where it charted at #13 it might only mean a couple of hundred copies were sold these days.

Europe and Eastern block has always been a strong market for them though, particularly Germany, so they’ve continued to do very well in that regard.

True that you don't need to sell that many albums anymore to get on charts...but it is still cool to see a band I enjoy on the charts...that is not a very common thing at all.

Amazon finally fixed their link, now I bought the album and it comes with "Throw My Bones" as it should.

So I just listened to Fireball and then came back to Whoosh!.

Those are two very different albums, for sure. Whoosh! was definitely made by musicians that lived through the 80s. Very definitely so. And "Dancing in My Sleep" was definitely made by musicians that lived through the 2000s, lol.

To be honest, I'm letting the discussion here serve as an excuse for me to listen to the album over and over, not fighting it at all or saying "enough!" No, I'm letting the album spin and I'm enjoying each ride around the neighborhood that DP's moved into. So far, the final track is my favorite, and yes, it's because of the funk thing in it.

Every time I listen to it, the more I feel like it's one big block of rock, end to end, take it all at once, kind of like Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick.
