Finally... FINALLY!! watched Goodfellas last night for the first time. I knew it must be a good film because of all the word of mouth about it. I was not dissapointed, a great film well worthy of all the plaudits. 9/10

Meanwhile, the kids chose Megamind.

Ugh.

Another CGI churnout movie that has a few funny lines here and there, but the star-power voices can't save a chump script.

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

A Terry Gilliam film about a bureaucrat in a dystopic society who becomes an enemy of the state as he pursues the woman of his dreams.  This 2 hour and 20 minute mess may make sense in the mind of Terry Gilliam, but not in mine. 3.5/10

One of my faves, as well. It's gone through multiple releases with different endings, so satisfaction can depend on which version you see.

The U.S. special forces team recounts the struggles and chaos they witnessed in attempting to defend the compound in Benghazi, in which an American ambassador died.  Extremely authentic battle scenes made it feel I was right in the middle of this true story. 8.5/10

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

When he acquires a different kind of show for his station, a sleazy cable-TV programmer begins to see his life and the future of media spin out of control in a terrifying new reality.  Starts out interesting enough, but then goes a little bit off the rails for my tastes. 6/10

Cult classic! My friends and I use to watch it a lot way back when, but we were always off our faces when we did.

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

A federal marshal stationed at a mining colony on the Jupiter moon of Io, uncovers a drug-smuggling conspiracy.  He gets no help from the workers or authorities when he finds himself marked for murder.  An old storyline in a new setting helped make the film enjoyable. 7.5/10

I love this movie , a galactic sci-fi version of the classic High Noon. So '80's vibrations.

Great fight scenes between an american destroyer ,leads by Tom Hanks as Commander Ernest Krause, protecting one of the many convoys (37 boats) coming from the US coasts to supply England during the Battle of the Atlantic in 1942. These damned U-Boots prowl in this area in the middle of the ocean, called the Black Pit not covered by air protection from the USA on the West side and the English one on the East side.
Another very good performance from Tom Hanks.

One of my favourites too! Haven't seen it in ages though. Never seen a bluray version for sale anywhere....would love to get this again. Sean Connery is amazing in it!
