I absolutely love this adaptation of Schiller's Ode to Joy. Beethoven's treatment is overwhelmingly beautiful, but this shorter piece encapsulates the joy and hope of Schiller's verse where the words stand out stronger in the mix with just a solo piano for accompaniment. Thank you, Mr. Schubert!

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the recording of the masterful LIVE AT THE RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL album I thought I'd give it a spin...



Not that version though as that is the Rhino Handmade special edition which I will not play...but I have the regular Deluxe Edition for that purpose. :)
