I wonder how Jimmy Page would've got on and how accepted it would've been if he'd decided to continue on with Led Zeppelin as the only original member?

Tricky question... that would imply that, after the death of Bonham, only Page wanted to continue as Led Zeppelin and that the three survivors were not wanting to continue with a hired hand drummer like Cozy Powell, Carmine Appice, or someone else that drummed for Jeff Beck.

Would that have led to a legal battle regarding ownership and use of the name "Led Zeppellin"? Would Page have continued to publish under Superhype Music and record for Swan Song, or would he have formed separate outfits to separate post-Bonham Zep from its earlier iteration? Would he have been panned by the critics? Who would he have recruited as sidemen?

Assuming the other questions were dealt with satisfactorily, the last one would be the biggest question of them all... Ostensibly, Page would need more than just a drum machine and a bass pedal if he didn't want to be a solo act. So if Plant and Jones wished him well in his new venture, who would Page have tried to pick up?

If only Ritchie had've resurrected Deep Purple by himself in the 80's and you threw in Uriah Heep(who's the Anthrax equivalent) they could've all went on tour together and called it The Fake Big Four

Yes, but Ritchie has been away from the rock scene for that long playing that godawful medieval/minstrel/folk music he has been that missed he's been welcomed back with open arms. Even if he is  only half the player he was. Rainbow was always Ritchie's band too.

Another hypothetical I've often pondered. If the roles were reversed and James Hetfield was the self destructive one in the band and it was him that was put on that greyhound back to LA in April of 83, would he have gone on to have the career Dave Mustaine did?

They were all drinking back then but Dave was on another level with his substance abuse and would get quite violent too.

I didn't know that. I can then understand why Dave takes his sobriety so seriously...

Just thought I would post this informative news report from the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company), on how Apple has been ripping off its customers.  As one guy states in the report, "Apple wants to control the use of their products from the very first day you buy it."  I myself have never bought a single Apple product in my life, because I knew they were like this.  Not to say their competitors are angels, but Apple is the worst.
