Im surprised they won and equally surprised Exodus didn't. Bonded By Blood was not only the best thrash album of 85 but one of the best ever period and is very much considered a true classic by most fans of thrash.

Whereas, I am *not* surprised that Club Ninja went nowhere - terrible album, that one.

I'm mostly surprised they won this year with this album. On the other side, there might be some competition for Reign next year, though...

For me the best Slayer albums are Hell Awaits, South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss
I consider Hell Awaits a rough gem from the 80s.

It's Coming Kilo. They are taking a bit more work as the years have gone on through the 80's. I'll try and get it up tonight(my time) or tomorrow as its a public holiday here.

Excellent news. You do a great job with these even though I've never heard of most of the albums!

And why does every other country in the world have more public holidays than the UK? Mind you I'm not in work so every day is sorta a public holiday for me! ;)

Yeah Australia or more to the point Melbourne loves a public holiday. Tomorrow's was only brought in 3 years ago to celebrate our AFL grand final(Super Bowl equivalent to our US members) We also have another one coming up in November which celebrates a horse race. The Melbourne Cup

1986 was a mammoth year for Metal, especially Thrash Metal. That one is going to be hard to pick through. And soon my favorite year from Metal 1988. That one will be impossible for me.

:o  I don't believe the U.S. has any holidays because of a sporting event though.

We are a sports mad country and Melbourne is considered the sports capital of Australia if not the world.

Three are fairly easy and a lock. Picking two others might prove more difficult though  ;)

That would be good, though...

"Be sure to be in Philly in mid-February."

"Mid-February? PHILLY? WTF?"

"Super Bowl anniversary celebration."

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah... makes sense... OK..."
