To me the thing is which album has more weak songs...and In Rock has two Flight Of The Rat and Living Wreck and Machine Head only has one Never Before thus Machine Head is better.

IR has a little more fire and energy to it and the highs are higher than the highs of MH.

Now we've got the Gillan battles left to hash out.

I believe MH is stronger than IR, particularly on songs like Pictures from Home and Lazy. Child in Time is a monster, sure thing, and so is Speed King, but add in MH"s Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, and Space Truckin', and I got an album I have to rate #1 against the other Mk2 offerings.

For Morse era, I feel Purpendicular and Abandon are strongest, followed by Now What!?.

In my voting, I made WDWTWA 4th, as I believe IR, Fireball, and MH are the true top three of Gillan's work with Blackmore.

I love Infinite, but it's 4th place to my Morse-era top three.
