I have to point out that the fact that dogs  are able to relate to us, are loyal and possible to train, while cats are more what we like to call "independent" show that dogs are actually the smarter ones. Jus sayin...  :-[

Well that is a bit of an over generalization. Cats can be extremely social as well. Like my Leo for instance, he is pretty much all the time with me. Either sleeping/sitting next to me or on my lap. Generally he is in the same room as me for as much has possible.

Cats can take care of themselves and they can pee and take a dump without the need of being told to do so...so yeah that's more independent than dogs for sure.

Bambi do come and tell me when she needs to go out. It's not like they shit on command, you know. :) Dogs are better at adjusting to surroundings, too. But, hey, i'll just go make my own thread about dogs (mopeyface)

We've got 4 cats in my house. One of them, a tortoise-shell, likes to get me to lift the covers on the bed so she can cuddle up next to me. Once she settles in, she purrs for Texas!
