Cigar was just plain top quality nicaraguan tobacco. A really good one I might add.

Trying out some new Absinthe. 140 proof this time...



Tastes pretty good this one too. I think I'm becoming a bit of an absinthe guy...

So I read about the history and manufacture of absinthe, and I ask are you drinking distilled absinthe or cold process?

The previous one I had was distilled but I have no idea about this one but I'm assuming it's also distilled.

Checked the brand, it's a Spanish distilled brand. Some fun facts include that Absinthe was never banned in Spain or Portugal, so they've kept their distilling practices intact over the years. The Czech brands tend to favor cold processing, which means typically more alcohol content and less taste.

There are even absinthe fountains for controlled drips of the ice water on to the sugar cube. Supposed to aid in the flavor bloom process.

Yeah...I'm just using a water bottle with that sports cap to drip the water on the sugar cube...it still works pretty well but I think if you want the maximum effect you should have that auto dripper device.

The whole banning of Absinthe was rather foolish and ignorant...but then again most bannings of things always are.

It was interesting in that *all* the evils of alcohol were laid at absinthe's door. There was an infamous murder case where a guy drank a bunch of alcohol prior to the murders, but because he had 2 glasses of absinthe at the end of his bender, absinthe took all the blame on that one, and that accelerated the campaign against "the green fairy".

Dr Pepper Zero Sugar

It's a definite difference from Diet Dr Pepper and an improvement over DP 10. I enjoy it very much, plan to continue with it.

I would rather drink my own urine than Dr Pepper.... I once bought a half a litre bottle of dr. pepper...had a sip then threw it away! God that shit's awful...just awful.
