There IS no connection, they're Swedes. Swedes are weird. That've been my point all along... :)

So what are peoples thoughts on the new one? I personally love it. The instrumentals were pretty good, I love that saxophone solo out of nowhere! Tobias has such a great voice and is really the highlight of Ghost. I wish there were one or two more heavier songs sprinkled in. The album really needed a "Mummy Dust" that Meliora had. I wish the medieval aspect was explored a little more, I would have been down for a concept album on the plague. There is a lot of catchiness going on and the album delivers the ghostly goods for me. I know most people who like metal would not like this. I am loving it and the songs have been stuck in my head!

Although the commercial side is indisputable, the album is fantastic. Catchy as hell. Melodies, songs, arrangements, make me think that it is a logical continuation of the evolution of the band. Some heavier tracks and metal riffs would have been welcome but the whole thing is perfect. No weak track.
My only regret is a visual one: Tobias should have evolved the character of Papa instead of creating this Cardinal Copia that leaves me cold.

I did hear that Cardinal Copia is auditioning to become Papa 4. There may be a transformation at some point. I think it would be boring to have a new papa every album cycle. I like this turn from left field. Otherwise, its just like a movie that has way too many sequels.

I guess you'll just have to wait and see if the smoke is black or white...

Tobias Forge talks a little about his love for Sabbath:

I wonder if he'd like to join "The Community"?
