Dance Macabre has clearly many similarities like the main riff , solo and melodies with Big City Nights of Scorpions.
Nothing embarrassing as I like the song  more and more.

The thing is, you gotta remember these are Swedes. Swedes have always had a thing about mixing Pop and Hard Rock. Take, Abba, great Pop craftmansship in itself, but Benny Andersons hitting the piano when he really gets at it is just like the hard rockin' Jerry Lee Lewis. Even with Roxette, you can hear by Per Gessles riffs that he's from a Hard Rock background. On the other hand there's "Metal" outings like Europe, which is pure Pop with a Hard Rock sound. Even their biggest forté in Extreme Metal, Death Metal, have gone pretty Pop, with the likes of In Flames.

But, yeah, in general, what you said suddenly made a lot of the Swedish bands I listen to make sense. I had even described one band as "stoner power pop." Now I know why.

Case in point; one of the main influences of this band was Black Sabbath. Ok, they got a tiny bit rockier after this (a very tiny bit), but still...
