When you're the underdog, you've got no choice but to be proud of it. Wanting to be degraded to it... 

The main reason i hate our national holiday is because i was playing in marching bands for many years. Alot of that happening today. Being a kid it was all about eating ice cream and playing games. At 9-10, joining the marching band it became about getting up at 5-6 in the morning and fucking march till 8-9 in the evening. Fucking child labour. In either way too hot or way too cold and wet weather.

I've later spun that further to the "norwegian culture" we're enjoying so damn heavy esp. today, much like the stuff in Z's video, was romanticized stuff dreamt up in the 19th century, and sometimes have very little to do with actual history.

And ofcourse, being it's the constitution and independence of 1814 we're celebrating, it should've been Nov. 4th instead. What was signed at May 17th was just the first draft, the one finally approved by the (Swedish) king was in Nov. And ofcourse, we didn't even end up independent, we ended up as fuckings Swedes... 

It's all just a huge self loving hoax... If you really love your country you can do it 365 days a year.
