Hurricane Ian now turning to South Carolina, hundreds expected in additional death toll across Florida. Hopefully, Ian hits SC, drops its rain, and then dissipates.

That was a big one for sure...I have watched some of Reed Timmer's footage from the intercept...need to check out more.

Couple of very rainy days here. But it's been nice and warm above 10C (50F) which is great for the season and eventhough it's been quite windy too the wind has been warm as well.

This is the kind of fall weather I truly enjoy!

Texas, meanwhile, gets whipsawed. 91-93F for the high today (33C or so) and then tomorrow, we get a massive storm, rain all day, high at 76F (24C) and then after that the highs are only around 66F (19C) for the next few days before climbing back up to around 83F/28C.

Quite an extraordinary night last night as a rather powerful storm front surprised Finland and there was quite heavy winds big gusts and heavy rain AND even some thunder which is extremely rare in late October.

The thundering part of the storm passed me on both sides though but I did see one flash of lightning in the distance. But there was quite heavy rain and strong wind gusts.

Luckily I was working the night so I could enjoy all of it. Very cool! This is the kind of autumn weather I absolutely love!

Clear, dry, and cool this morning, have my office door open to take in the air.

Mild, wet and windy. Temps way above where they should be for the time of year, looking at low 20sC and should be that way until early next week.

Mild and wet here too...temps at 9C now which is bit above the average...but we did have some much colder than average temps in the late september so it's evening out nicely.

Hopefully it'll stay like this for a long while more.

Proper fall in Texas all this week and next. Ahhh! Finally!

Currently 9 C (but it is also 0529). Will get up to about 16 C. That's been the pattern for a bit, and looks to continue next week. We're solidly into the fall, all the trees have changed and every other day it gets cold enough to hard freeze. Prior to this recent spate of mild temperatures, it was getting down to -5 C, but then up to 25 C during the day. Been real dry.

Storm last night (the amber warning came in quite late), lots of wind and rain, kept me awake until stupid o'clock!

Still windy with some showers but a lot less strength.

We get our big rain Friday night going into Saturday, should be thunder and lightning for sure.
