... and that was an album I was disappointed with. I agree with the likeness, but that's not good news for me. :(

I want you to be happy, even if... it's... without me...

But seriously, I'm still not sold on the vocalist and if the songs are mid-tempo verse chorus verse chorus guitar solo verse chorus chorus , I'm going to be unhappy with the outcome. I don't mind a well-done slow/mid song when it's got some good faster songs to contrast with it. I'm going to need some fast rockers here to keep my attention, and those were missing from The Devil You Know, which I really REALLY wanted to like.

I liked the newest song better than the first by a bit, am interested in hearing the full album. Much like Z, I'm not a fan of one plodding song following another plodding song. Although in a vacuum they can be good. We'll see. I do love the riffage, though.

Well frankly the speed of the songs don't bother me if the songs are GOOD. Fast, slow, doomy...all work for me.

And as far as The Devil You Know it had 3 pretty fast songs!

As far as Jorn Lande goes...yeah....I'm not fully on board with his vocals yet either...but hey atleast he's not as bad as Glenn Hughes!!  >:D

See, now, I *like* Glenn Hughes, but it goes to show that one person's cuppa tea is another person's non-preference, or however that old saying goes.

Amazon knows that the Finns are SERIOUS about their metal and does not want to get sideways with that lot?

Have you ever seen an angry Finn? Well, keep sending them their metal on time, and you won't have to! :D

As soon as this meeting ends, I'll give it a listen... Mr. Iommi has uploaded it to the YouTubes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29qMn20jRL8&list=PLe_x6LlqwzJw&index=1

Well well well....
After the first listen I can make some observations..

First of all:
It's a real shame Ruin Rubin didn't allow Tony to write songs like this on 13!

There's some real punch in these songs! And eventhough it sounds 100% like Tony Iommi there is no self plagiarism to be heard! Everything sounds fresh....very different vibe from 13 which just tried too hard to be the first 3 Sabbath albums remake and failed miserably.

The opening track is an absolute monster! Jorn's delivery here is very similar to Ronnie's.

Didn't really care for Black Times...but it might be a grower.

World Alone is better than the video for sure.

Beyond The Dead has an epic doom vibe going.

Stormwatcher is something that could have easily been on The Devil You Know! Brilliant tune! Might be the best one on the album.

Death Wake has a Candlemass vibe to it...which is kinda odd...cause usually listening to Candlemass you go "There's a Sabbath vibe to this"! :D But honestly this could have been on Sweet Evil Sun and Jorn even sounds bit like Johan in this one!

Return Of The Arbalist (had to actually consult my dictionary for that one, never heard that word before...arbalist...odd) is the fast song but it's not fast fast and it's not super heavy either. But the riff is good kind of wacky.

Legacy is the epic closer. Kind of like Breaking Into Heaven or I go Insane...but maybe with a bit softer touch.

This is Tony Iommi through and through. Heavy riffing, blistering solos. Doom vibe is present but maybe not turned to the max like it was on The Devil You Know. But you can clearly hear that this is more of a continuation to that album than 13...this is more Tony being Tony.

Jorn Lande's vocals...at times he sounds AWESOME and then at times he sounds like someone trying too hard to NOT sound like Ronnie. Jury's still out on his preformance.

I am surprised by Karl Brazil's drumming though...I thought he wouldn't be a heavy drummer but he is! And also with groove.

Becky's great on the bass, but didn't really doubt that.

Can't really say anything about ranking this one yet though...needs more listens...It'll will land on the top half of the list rather than bottom I would say...

At 41 minutes though it is bit on the short side...the two instrumental bonus tracks (which were released with his perfume long time ago) bring the total to just 50 minutes.
