Maybe they just needed time apart. That happens.

Well Tom was 100% done with it...or so he said. He had his health issues with his back and neck and wanting to be with his family and what not...

Well I guess 5 years was enough and he got bored! :D

Cash money is hard to pass up; those guys are an instant draw wherever they decide to play a gig, so I imagine certain people started pasing around numbers and Tom was like, "no,". And then some bigger numbers were passed around, and Tom talked to his wife and she smacked him in the head and was all like, "wtf, go grab that money, you're not getting any younger."

Combined with what is no doubt the lure of the stage - even for someone in Tom's position, it's got to play a role there. King mentioned Tom's aversion to fame, and I get that, but this wouldn't be about fame, per se. Just the feeling of walking onto a stage and having the energy of tens of thousands of people directed at you.

^^ I agree, I believe that they were offered enough $$ to convince them to take part in those Fests.  It was still a quite surprising and sudden announcement.

Quite right I suppose.

Money's there and so is the demand... But honestly I think they could have waited bit longer to make a comeback, especially after all the hype that went into that retirement! :D

But hey I don't mind! World with Slayer in it is better than world without!

Anyone here know a band called FORBIDDEN?

I just heard Tim mention the band on the KK's Priest show broadcast and checked them out and thought they were pretty good!

Well I thought our resident musical encyclopedia Thel would know them!

Yeah...looks like they've been unactive more than active over the years. Pretty good stuff though.

That's the first I've heard of them, pretty solid material.

Quite the shocking announcement coming from EXODUS

Announcement!
EXODUS have parted ways with Steve "Zetro" Souza. We thank Steve for his years fronting the band and all the killer music we made during that time. We wish him only the best in the future and much success with anything he does.
And please help us welcome Rob Dukes back to EXODUS! We are beyond stoked to have Rob back ripping up the stage with us and he's looking forward to crushing everything like only he can.
Next chapter begins, new record rolls along as planned and the beatings will continue.
See you soon,
EXODUS

I never liked Dukes...his stage persona was abnoxious and his vocals were...well...not very good...so I won't be buying the next Exodus album anymore...this is kind of sad though as I would have liked to see them live at some point...but not anymore.

^^ Yes, again from out of the blue they have once again changed vocalists, with Rob taking the place of the man who replaced him.  Quite surprising/unexpected indeed.

I like Dukes and truly enjoy his albums with Exodus but the band was iconic with Souza
