I really think I should check Overkill out...heard a lot of good things about them...

Sooo... Not Overkill, not the New York Dolls.  :twitch: Any other essential Rock/Metal bands that've passed you by? Hanoi Rocks? :P Or is it just New York based bands? Ever heard The Ramones?
Well he's a big Anthrax fan and also a fan of White Zombie so not all the essential New York bands have passed him by.

Charger I totally recommend you picking up The Years of Decay, it's the best of the 80's Overkill albums. Also Horrorscope(91) and imo the best thrash album of the last 20 years Ironbound.
Plenty of other great albums in the Overkill discography but if those three albums I mentioned don't get you hooked, nothing will.

Oh yes...I do know something about the New York metal scene! :D I just don't care much about punk...

Thanks...I will check that one out at some point. I remember few years ago at a HAIL! show meeting the Overkill guitarist Dave Linsk (Tim Ripper Owens introduced us there) and he was a great player and a super cool guy...we talked a lot about Ronnie and our favourite albums.

 :metal1: :rhythm: :drummer: :guitar:

I bought this recently and though they do slow it down a bit and add some touches of Groove Metal it still is a enjoyable "Thrashy" album IMHO. I would say to at least give it a chance if you have not already, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised like I was.

^^ I have the Japanese issue of Force of Habit which has 2 bonus tracks, a slipcase for the jewel box, a sticker and a booklet with extra photos, bios on each band Member, etc.

There are some good songs on FOH but also too much filler including 2 cover songs which don't belong at all IMO.  They needed to save those covers for b-sides and some of the originals for reworking/improving for possible inclusion on later albums (though to be fair this album was their last brand new studio one until 2004).

I have been listening to this album a lot lately, loving the drum work - I am not a drummer but as usual Lars makes some interesting choices on the record.

Same here! I was gonna get the DVD/CD double pack but it's not available here...I could order it from Nuclearblast 's own webstore but the postage is so insane that it makes no sense.

Just as Chile On Hell is the horrible editing make it near unwatchable. It's a huge bugbear of mine the way bands have their live concert videos edited these days.

Yeah...that's true...but neither this or Chile is even close to being the worst I've seen...But indeed...I do miss the good old days when there was actually more than seconds between edits.

Blackfire is back !! :headbanger:
raw sound, a lot of mistakes but nevermind . A great back to roots with a tracklist essentially from the first EP and 3 first LPs.
