The band's leader wants to expand their sound, do they:

Add a horn section    or    Add backing singers

For the horns... do you entice The Memphis Horns or Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s?

Horns need something to balance the sound between them and the guitars:

Cellos, they got more bottom to them, great for heavier sounds.


Two vocalists are expressing interest in the project, you can pick one: Rod Stewart or Steve Marriott?

Thinking about a drummer - but - the cellist is pushing for a drum machine instead of an actual percussionist. Which is it going to be, a live person or some relative of an Alesis SR-16?

Drum machine in 1971? Sly Stone is kicking around one of those things, not too bad, but not ready for concert work. We'll need a live drummer for tours. See if we can get Clive Bunker.



Also need a bass player, come to think of it. Should it be "just" a bass player, or are we looking for bass + vocals to backup the singer?

Geezer Butler singing background vocals or Ozzy Osbourne playing drums?

Ozzy may have been able to keep a rhythm in the past, not sure he could now. But Geezer has a proven record on it's a hard road!
