The Emir of Dubai invites your band to play his son's birthday party for a zillion dollars. But you would have to cancel a week's worth of concerts on your North American tour, at least.


Take the money and play the party or put the North American fans first?

Making a new album... there's a tricky section that one of the players can't quite get sorted...

Rewrite the song so it's less tricky in the melody/rhythm

OR

Tell the player to take a short break and get a session player in to record that part and then pretend like the guy did it on one of his takes and then never ever play that song live...

I'm a firm believer that a band should always be able to do every song they record live too so I'd just rewrite it...


Tenth anniversary of the band approaches...

Do a one off special show that you record for a live dvd or just release a best of collection?

We're likely not talking to each other by then, so let's have a best-of and save the "original lineup" reunion for the 20th anniversary.


Rumors are circulating about your band possibly breaking up!

The rumors are 100% true, but do you admit that in the public press and guarantee the breakup or deny them in the public press and hope that you can patch things back together?

Admit it straight up. I hate it when bands circle jerk around issues. It'll always look ridiculous in the end.


So two members of the band have now split...

Do you carry on by just finding replacements or do you call the band quits and go for a solo record?

I own the rights to the band name because I was busy with the lawyers while they complained. I got a ton of songwriting credits and those are my retirement plan.

We get replacements, cut a new album of original material AND do a Christmas single because that's a big long-term money-maker, just ask Noddy Holder!



And now the two who left formed their own band and made a single that edged your band's track in the charts. They're doing a lot of trash-talking in the press.

Do you deepen the feud or brush it off and remain above the fray?

Your record company demand a new album which is more commercial and might be a hit... do you:

Ignore them and put out a concept album *    or    Take their advice and basically become Nickleback

Band members are dropping hints that it's not too late to go for commercial success instead...

Give in to their wishes in the spirit of band camaraderie, or tell them too bad and that they can be replaced if they don't want to go forward with this concept album!
