Pantera going on tour next year

Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown are going to be joined by guitar legend Zakk Wylde and Drummer master Charlie Benante for a short run of shows in 2023 under the Pantera name.

I don't really know what to make of this...
Phil was doing some Pantera stuff with his solo band and I guess he found out that there's quite a bit of demand for more live Pantera stuff...

And the Pantera "reunion" has been talked about for years and years...even before Vinnie Paul passed away...but I understood it was Vinnie who was dead against it because he didn't want to share the stage with Phil ever again for what ever reason...But I do remember an interview where Vinnie was asked who he wanted on guitar just in case and the answer was without hesitation Zakk Wylde.

And to me there was never anyone else that I could think of other than Zakk...Charlie came out of the left field a little bit but he is one hell of a drummer too and he can pull off the heavier stuff for sure.

I was never a huge Pantera fan but I do enjoy some of their music quite a bit...

So is this Phil Anselmo's Pantera or are they touring under just the Pantera name?

From what I've gathered it'll be just Pantera...Techincally though neither Rex or Phil are founding members so one might think it's sort of questionable for them to use the name...but on the otherhand Rex joined very early on and it was only after Phil joined the band started to get known so...

Technically it should really be Rex Brown's Pantera rather than Phil's if we'd want to go down that road...

I have a similar opinion to Pantera as Charger, I'm not really a fan but I like some songs, if I'm honest I don't much like the vocals... but occasionally they work!

A lot of fans are getting bent out of shape over this. I’m kinda on the fence about. A part of me thinks Pantera died with Dime and should stay that way, but I’m not dead against Phil & Rex reuniting and calling it Pantera either. I’m lucky I saw Pantera back in the 90’s a couple of times so I’m not craving it but I’d probably still check em out if they toured my neck of the woods.

Zakk and Charlie are perfect choices.

In general I'd be against it, but since they were able to snag Zakk I think it's not a bad idea. I'm not very familiar with Charlie Benante, but sounds like he fits the bill. I hope their tour is a huge success.
