Mos Generator New Album: Shadowlands

There's a lot of Sabbath in their sound, but they know how to tap other kegs, if you know what I mean. The vocals mix on this album makes the singer sound a little less like Ozzy and a little more like the guy from Smash Mouth, but that's not a bad thing. He's got a great delivery and the rest of the band is up to the task. I'm really liking this offering, in particular "Drowning in Your Loving Cup". That song is a great jam.

Their great rocker of an album of 2016, Abyssinia, got me hooked and this album scratches that same itch.

Mos Generator is a band that knows how to adjust its volume controls, so don't be surprised when the break into quieter jams here and there. They always get back to the hard rock, though, and I love 'em for that.

If you're an Ozzy-era Sabbath fan, you owe it to yourself to check out Mos Generator. This band knows how to keep that spirit alive, making albums that sound like they could slide right into the gap between Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage.

This is a band that got me to get back into Ozzy-era Sabbath after a long time ignoring it. Their Abyssinia album previous to this one made me want to go back and explore Vol. 4, SBS, and Sabotage. I was glad that this album release lived up to my expectations.

And it makes me genuinely happy when someone else enjoys a music suggestion I make. I'm glad you liked it.

My son didn't like Ozzy, so for about 4 years we listened only to Dio, Gillan, and Martin stuff as we drove to and from where I taught and where he went to high school. I just fell out of the habit. My son is like the anti-Billy, you could say...

I listened to the rest of the album and I agree, Drowing In The Loving Cup is the best song.
