Moscow Attack Non-PG
« on: March 24, 2024, 07:43:29 AM »
This is not so much a commentary on the recent terrorist attack in Moscow as it is about what random internet people have had to say about it thus far.

I try to be a reasonable, circumspect, and thoughtful person. I try to view the behavior of other people through a lens of, "good intentions," first, rather than assuming the worst. I enjoy hearing/reading different perspectives about any given thing, and feel that it is a fundamental human right for a person to develop and hold whatever opinion they want about those things. That manifests as me not passing judgement on them. In short, I show them respect.

After wallowing through the comments section on a Wall Street Journal article about the attack in Moscow, I believe I am now fed up. My capacity for nonsense has been overfilled. Given time, I'm sure it will drain, but currently I have no room in my psyche for entertaining the thoughts and opinions of dipshits.

So, it is with heartfelt sincerity that I extend a, "FUCK YOU," to the collective mass of low-functioning dribble-lickers out there who think that just because they can type means their opinions are worthy of respect. A clue for those mouth-breathers: they are NOT.

I recognize that the intended recipients of my message probably won't run across it in their internet travels, and if they should happen upon it their very nature will no doubt cause them worry about what they should do. They should SHUT THE FUCK UP. Because Joe Biden did NOT instigate the attack in Moscow so he could lay the groundwork for a homosexual relationship with Vladimir Putin.

Jesus Fucking CHRIST.

So who *did* instigate the attack in order to get up close and personal with Putin? Er, um, asking for a friend? :D

Seriously, though, it is troubling to see just how so many people give themselves permission to make stuff up and then accept the making up of stuff to serve as proof that said stuff is true.

I see articles all the time bemoaning how AI will generate false content for such and such reasons. But it's merely a reflection of the species that created it - we won't be able to cure AI algorithms and such of hallucinations and bullshitting until we've addressed those imperfections in ourselves.

I've given that a lot of thought, and I can't shake the feeling...the sense...that there is something going on here. My post didn't even mention AI, yet here you come, proactively shielding AI from negativity. Almost...almost like...YOU'RE AN AI!!!

:whatudo:

Wait- what? :D

Now, now, let us not shield AI but rather look for its faults in the hands and minds that build it, not the thing itself.

As for lies and all, the KGB found that coupling lies with hateful messages concentrated in a 30-day period will sway many a mind. The key for survival, therefore, is to reject hateful messages. Easier said than done, I agree. But, for me, avoiding broadcast news and political ads goes a long way towards avoiding the hate.

I've done that with local stuff for ages. Every so often I'll intentionally watch a few minutes of the local news and...it's like that feeling you get while enjoying a nice sandwich and the next bite is crunchy and you feel something moving around in your mouth.

frickin' BLECH!

What drove me up the wall was how local news would run stories about child molesters around every corner and how no kid should be unsupervised ever ever ever outside of the house and then turn around and complain about kids not going outside anymore.
