Just watched highlights from Melbourne-Bulldogs. Not as high-scoring as the men's game, so I got to see more tackles and stops. Loved it, will watch more. :D

I watch it too. The Women are crazy brave. They go in so hard. Yeah the skills aren’t there but it’s all about the contest for me. The AFLW has a lot of detractors as to why it gets so much money thrown at it and so much exposure especially on free to air tv compared with other sports but the way I see it is. A hell of a lot of girls follow AFL, it’s probably a 60/40 men/women split with attendance at games and home viewing, so why shouldn’t young girls have an elite competition and something to aspire to just like young boys do? The competition is improving every year.

My soon to be 15yo daughter plays, she loves it more than anything else and has aspirations to one day play in the AFLW.

With the uniforms and team names being the same as the men's, I have to make myself remember that men's team performance != women's team performance. Seeing the Adelaide Crows dominate the Brisbane Lions, I had to keep reminding myself that Cameron wasn't about to run out on the field and turn things around. :D
