Listening to the radio, my stereo is in pieces as I move it upstairs. My 100 pound amplifier covered with sharp metal heat sink fins is going to be a trick to move. I can't hold it in a way that doesn't shred my hands and arms and still carry it, I might put a towel on the floor and just scoot it to the stairs then push it up one step at a time. Otherwise I'll have to enlist a couple of people to tote the thing. The rest of my setup won't work without an amplifier haha, so leaving it downstairs is not an option. 

I had to buy a couple of record storage units because although the ones I have downstairs are handmade, solid oak, and work great - they look like crates and would negatively impact the aesthetic upstairs. Plus, I don't need all of those records upstairs, anyway.

This is all a great distraction - I get to do a bunch of sound analysis in this new space and work on tuning it all up.

Once I get the amplifier upstairs, of course lol

Hahaha! That's the problem with having an A+ quality gear! My amp only weighs about 35 pounds! Much easier to transport...not that I've needed to but still!

Kansas City was selected to host some games for this year's World Cup. It's...interesting how people here seem to be responding. On the one hand, you have the folks who understand what the World Cup is, and are excited about it due to knowledge and insight. Then there is a much larger group of people who picture the World Cup as a second-tier soccer championship since the local KC team has never been in it. Then an even larger group of people who don't care, they just see another excuse to get drunk.

Then, there is a small group of people who are protesting the World Cup and the fact that KC is hosting some games. They think it is all designed to bring loose European values to the USA so the Muslims can immigrate and take over.

Seriously.

The lead up saw the city of Kansas City, MO, push efforts to "clean up" and so forth. Through all of the interviews and news accounts, over the past two years, not one person ever asked the mayor or any council members, or just posed the question to the internet, why the city can't be in a clean, maintained state all the time? Clearly there is money to do it...

That right there is a slice of pure Texas, Z. I can - smell - it.
