In Paris, in the beginning of the Twentieth Century, a theater owner (Jason Robards) at the Rue Morgue, performs the play "Murders in the Rue Morgue" with his wife (Christine Kaufmann), who has dreadful nightmares. When there are several murders by acid of people connected to the owner, the prime suspect is the owner's former partner (Herbert Lom). But years earlier he had committed suicide!
Nice period scenes of the time. However, the story drags a bit, which dilutes its effectiveness. 5/10

Before I forget and your post recedes into the back pages of this thread - thank you!
I've got a lot of decades behind me, a lot of experiences, a lot of fails, a lot of wins. Name pretty much anything and I've been there or close enough to know not go there. And sometimes I went anyway
But the universe had a lesson for me these past six months. One I didn't even realize I needed to learn. But damned if it didn't knock my ass plumb off with it.
Cheers Jack - hope all is great with you!

Literature / Re: Currently Reading
« Last post by Typhon on October 21, 2026, 03:47:46 PM »Just finished reading, and looking, at Hammer Glamour. It covers a complete list of female actresses from Hammer's horror movies. Each actress is allotted 2 to 4 pages of great pictures along with a brief biography. I am glad to admit that I enjoyed reading the biographies just as much as looking at the pictures of these beautiful women.
