For number 3 it's time to Thrash it up again.  This from my favourite EXODUS album...  And there's even a music video for this one.  It's called WAR Is My Shepherd!

An impeccable choice! A great song from one of the Originators of thrash metal.

Being a Canadian, I thank you for starting this thread Thel, and sorry I'm commenting a couple of days late as I just discovered the thread now.  Thanks also to Z and Charger for their comments.

Mk II: Gillan & Glover / Re: Made In Japan SUPER DELUXE
« on: June 19, 2025, 07:09:41 PM »
I still have my 2 LP issue of the album I received in the early 80's as well as Live in Japan, the remixed triple CD issue that I bought upon release in the early 90's.  So I don't think I'll be buying this latest reissue of the album.

Thanks for posting the video Charger.  I've only watched it and heard the song once; I think it's somewhat better than Black Mamba as my opinion re. the latter song has diminished somewhat after hearing it a couple more times.

Thanks for posting the video, Charger; although Black Mamba was released a couple of days ago, I just watched the vid. and listened to the song for my 1st time here and now.  My initial reaction? The into. kind of reminds me of their 'esoteric' material on their 1st 2 albums at times; the balance of the song sounds more like an Alice-solo tune to me, but noticeably better in terms of overall quality.  As for the 'ya-ya's', I don't mind the melody so much.  The 'lyric' doesn't exactly epitomize creativity - perhaps actually words should have been written or guitar utilized playing the same melodic notes instead.   I agree w/Vyn's appraisal above re. Alice's singing on the rest of the song.

Based on my initial reaction to BM - it's fairly good - my hopes for the rest of the album have improved somewhat.

For the first time in over 50 years, Alice Cooper and the original band reunite to bring rock ‘n’ roll back from the shadows! The Revenge of Alice Cooper is a high-voltage journey into vintage horror and classic ’70s shock rock. Together, they’ve created an album packed with the sound, energy, and mischief that made them legendary.

This album throws you straight into the golden era of Killer, Billion Dollar Babies, School’s Out, and Love It To Death—packed with electrifying riffs, raw energy, and Alice’s signature storytelling. From the venomous bite of Black Mamba to the rebellious charge of Wild Ones, and the soft, haunting melodies of See You on the Other Side, every track feels like a lost rock ‘n’ roll classic.

Tracklist
1. Black Mamba
2. Wild Ones
3. Up All Night
4. Kill The Flies
5. One Night Stand
6. Blood On The Sun
7. Crap That Gets In The Way Of Your Dreams
8. Famous Face
9. Money Screams
10. What A Syd
11. Inter Galactic Vagabond Blues
12. What Happened To You
13. I Ain’t Done Wrong
14. See You On The Other Side

Release date: July 25, 2025

There's beer festivals!? Well goddamn! If I'd be an out going person that'd be a festival I'd like to go! Even with a chance of an injury! ;D

I've been to more than 100 Beer Fests; I've been attending them since 2007.  I've had so many awesome experiences at them.

Well, I went to a beer festival today, while heding for the bus home I managed to trip over ... alcohol consumption may have had a part to play in that... the right thigh is now very tender, while I'm not convinced I've broken my thigh I suspect I've done something which may need some R&R to get over it!

Sorry that happened; hope you recover fully asap.  I once fell down after attending a Beer/Alcohol Fest. due to a combination of alcohol consumption and fatigue/tiredness.  Not a good experience.

^^ Yes, again from out of the blue they have once again changed vocalists, with Rob taking the place of the man who replaced him.  Quite surprising/unexpected indeed.

^^ Yes quite unexpected.  Apparently Maiden has already chosen a replacement which should be revealed soon.

Canada post is striking and I have some checks that are trapped in the system
I support the rights of workers but they have chosen the worst time to strike

Well that sucks ass. Strikes usually only complicate the lives of people not involved with the striking at all...which is why I do not support any kind of strikes.

I am in Canada and so am also affected by the strike.  I agree with both of you re. your sentiments about the strike and strikes in general.

Solo Projects / Re: New Iommi album in the works
« on: June 14, 2024, 06:18:47 AM »
I saw/read this announced yesterday.  There has been social media speculation about whether it will be an instrumental album only or if songs w/vocals will be present, and if it's the latter, which vocalist(s) might appear on the release?

Resurrecting the Fireball 25th Anniversary theme, my pick is Slow Train, a  kind of unusual sounding track that I've always admired.
