Title: Most anticipated albums of 2021
Post by: Charger on January 09, 2021, 08:11:20 AM
Gosh noticed we didn't have a thread on this yet...and it's 21 already! So gotta have one!

I'm listing the ones I'm looking forward the most in order are:

Blaze Bayley
Megadeth
Rob Zombie
Alice Cooper
Grief Collector
Exodus
Burning Witches
Tony Martin - Thorns
KK's Priest <- the name still sucks but the band is ACE.

Those are the ones I know are going to come out this year atleast...

Anthrax may or may not put the album out this year...I think recently Scott said that they wouldn't release the album until the covid is over...which ofcourse would mean that album is NEVER coming out so I think he's gonna have to rethink that one a bit...
I don't understand why keep it though...it's not like they're getting any younger either and best just put the stuff out...who cares if you can tour or not...

Deep Purple is going to record a new one too but I don't know if it'll be out this year though...probably not...

Ozzy still is working with those z-listers so couldn't care less with that shit why he just won't do an actual album with his actual band why use some useless nobody's...ridiculous.

And speaking of Ozzy's actual band I don't know if Black Label Society is going to put an album out but it would be about time...been too long.

I'm sure there are others that might drop an album that I can't remember right now...

Doro is working on some new material as well...she said she's got 5 or so songs written up already.

To be honest I don't know who's releasing anything. I know Tony Martin is releasing Thorns and I'll certainly be getting that. The Stranglers are working on a new album but I don't know when it will come out. It's their first since Giants in 2012, and their first since the death of keyboard player Dave Greenfield, I guess the lockdown has given them time to write and record!

Iron Maiden have been rumoured to be in the studio since 2019(!) but... you know!

Already on my list :

The Dead Daisies - Holy Ground
Soen - Imperial
Evergrey -  Escape Of The Phoenix
Megadeth
King Diamond ? I don't believe it anymore.
Coroner ? Same as King Diamond.
Tony Martin - Thorns
The Pretty Reckless - Death by Rock and Roll
and a special mention to :
Miley Cyrus - her Metallica covers album . I'll give it a serious listen.  I hope not to be disappointed by the chick.
...
I keep my fingers crossed that the discoveries of this new year will be legion.

^^^
I'm waiting for the release of Metallica's Miley Cyrus Covers album! :-X

To be fair her cover of Nothing Else Matters at Glastonbury was "ok" so I wouldn't dismiss the album without actually hearing it.

And, damn! I'd forgotten about the Dead Daisies album, Hughes keeps publicising it on FB I should have remebered!

I wonder if it'd be more likely that we'll get the new Mercyful Fate they've been writing. Apparently its in the spirit of the EP and Melissa.

You're right, I forgot, the long wait for the next King Diamond and its release date and has since become a joke has overshadowed this information.
But, without wanting to do the usual frustrated, I so wanted to see the original line-up with Kim Ruzz, Michael Denner and Timi Hansen. Alas, Kim Ruzz gave up music for a very long time; Michael is angry with the rest of the band and Timi tragically left us. So sad.
So, I'm afraid it won't taste the same. Nevertheless, I will listen to it with pleasure.

Megadeth for sure, and Wo Fat has one slated for later in the year, I am stoked for that one!

I'll be VERY surprised to see another DP album so soon after Whoosh!, but maybe they're feeling feisty?

Did not expect, but happy to discover:

I'm just on the first track, but reviews look strong for it and the stoner-desert-space jams are exactly what the cover promises.

Second track, my head is bobbing along, this is good stuff... I'll probably finish listening to it in between meetings for the rest of the day...

Checking out this one instead of finishing the first, lolz... but this one has a really heavy, groove-laden opening track, good reviews, lots of promise on it. Jan 2021 is lookin' good for heavy music...
