That's quite brazen, making people pay to hear the stuff that didn't make it to the album.

I've read that there are 20 "NEW and LIVE" songs in this set. Has anyone seen a track listing? It's funny, when they released all the other "Deluxe" sets they said they had no new content that they could add to make Vol. 4 and others Deluxe.

Has anyone heard this? I've heard less than great things about the remaster of the album itself, but I'm curious about the live tracks and outtakes.

Now there's one suber tuber über extra special deluxe edition coming out from SABOTAGE...

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/black-sabbath-super-deluxe-edition-of-sabotage-due-in-june/ (https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/black-sabbath-super-deluxe-edition-of-sabotage-due-in-june/)

BUT what makes this somewhat more interesting than the previous ones is that (like with the recent Mob Rules) this features a full previously unreleased live concert.

And eventhough they do not mention the origin of the show it pretty much has to be the Asbury Park show which is now then FINALLY getting the official release it has rightfully deserved.

BUT here's the thing the cd version of this costs 89.90€?!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK I mean come on!?!?! Insane money.

I would love to get this just for the live show but I can't justify that price though....just can't.

Looks to have much less content compared to the other super deluxe boxsets which doesn’t reflect it in the price being a little cheaper. I’ll still be buying it regardless though. Sabotage is one of me all time favourite albums by anyone.

Anyhow, It’s not like Sabbath set the price on these things either. They don’t own their masters unfortunately so it’s all the record companies that come up with these boxsets and pricing. Tony, Ozzy, Geezer and Bill have very little to do with putting them together.  They’ve never been fully invested or taken a hands on approach with these rereleases like Jimmy has with Zeppelin.

True. When you don't own the masters, you have zero say in what's done with them. So many terrible stories in music are because of the management, legal, and industrial aspects of an artist's career.

I pre-ordered that Sabotage set. Will be interesting to compare the live set against version I have.

It arrived yesterday, gave side one of the live set a spin this morning.

It is the August 6th, 1975 recording. A bootleg staple for years, now officially released. Interestingly, nowhere does it indicate the date/location of the recording, just that it was from their 1975 tour.

Sounds great, though!

TE super deluxe announced recently. Original mix remastered, Steven Wilson remix of the album (including a mono 'It's Alright' for some reason), alternate takes/outtakes, and a live recording from the 1976-77 tour.

I remember reading that shows on the TE tour were recorded for an intended live album (or was that the Never Say Die tour.. not the London show), maybe this recording is from those.

I'm assuming the live show is the Pittsburg 1976 show. It was recorded for a radio show and as far as I know it's the only professionally recorded show from that tour.

I'm not planning on buying either the Sabotage nor the TE Super Deluxe Editions.  I'll wait and see what the SBS SDE has in terms of extra tracks whenever it's release is announced, then decide whether it's worth a purchase.  Hopefully Born Again will definitely be remixed now that all of the masters have apparently been located - that will be pretty much a definite buy for me.  I still need to buy the Vol.4 SDE as well.

Looking at the bootlegs that are out there, I think you're right. It's a pity that it's not the complete show.

A Born Again remix will be a must buy for me too, as will the Forbidden remix.
