After posting a comment I return back to the parent forum instead on the topic, what to do?
Answer:
It does that on default, you have to go to your profile and change the setting like this:
Profile -> Modify profile -> Look & Layout : Return to topics after posting by default.

Why is it that people are talking about something new with the forum theme, but all I see is the same old one we had before?
Either you need to refresh the forums while holding the CTRL key...
... or you need to change your current theme to the one everyone's talking about, by going to your profile and selecting "Look and Layout" in the options on the left column. At the top of the "Look and Layout" page is an option to change your theme. The default for these forums is Surface31, and Zzzptm says it's pretty awesome since he's the one that totally changed the colors in it. ALL of them. There are lots of colors in there, you know...

Why doesn't buttons and smileys show when i quote posts?
Press Preview and you can continue writing the post with those available.

Why is there no "thumbsup" smiley in the rows of smilies in the "edit post" view?
That's because it's in the smilies in the "more" window.

What's the deal with talking about drugs or tape trading or stuff like that?
Well, those are illegal activities in lots of places, so we have to be careful. Not because authoritarian authorities will swoop in to shut us down if we mention subjects like that, but because there are members of The Community that may be seeking or who wish to maintain US Government (or other government) security clearances. Those security clearances require that such people not be involved in illegal activities and that, basically, they keep an arm's length from talk of such, just to be sure. We really don't want someone to have to decide between a job/career and talking about stuff and things. Use good judgment in such discussions.
These things may be legal where you are, and that's fine. You may dabble yourself where others must or choose to abstain. Live and let live. But we can't actually arrange transactions that would break the law, that's the line we have to draw so folks can participate here and not worry about getting in trouble at work because someone wanted to swap a copy of Black Sabbath at Lund 1977 in exchange for Deep Purple at Osaka 1994. Both were great shows, and both were bootlegged, and it's that last factoid that we have to be careful about so that we're not seen to be a pirate site.

How to post pictures and videos?
There are buttons for this.
The Insert Picture button is the first one on the second row (circled in yellow) and Insert Video from Youtube is the one with the Red play button (circled in red) on the second row:
