If you're new, post here. Maybe we'll sticky this thread if people actually post to it. :batdance:

Hi. My name is Billy. I'm an alcoholic.
-
Hi I'm Charger... I'm the big boss so don't mess with me or you'll get a :redcard:!!!
Just kidding ofcourse...I'm not the big boss, but I am the Nightmarish one...in more ways than one I might add.

Hi. My name is Linda, I'm a Sabbathmaniac, that is: crazy about the MUSIC of Black Sabbath. Thus, I am more a collector and listener of the music than a fan of the band members as individuals. I love the music, but IMO there's no reason to glamourise the people who created them. I am really looking forward to being on this forum with (so I expect) lots of great and reasonable people - rather then the religious fanatics, bullies and bigots that keep haunting a certain other forum where I am a member too. :-)
-
rather then the religious fanatics, bullies
I can be a bit of both, but in a much more civilized way than those you're thinking about :)

Hi, I'm Vyn and my bologna has a first name.

I'm Scott. Decided to shed the pseudonym that I'd stuck with for a decade plus, at that certain other forum.
Belated thanks to Linda, for the invite.

Welcome on board Scott! Good to have you here with us!

Thanks, Charger! Glad to be here. Have been pretty busy, otherwise I'd have joined sooner.

HI,
I'm BOGBLAST (the dude formerly known as TURCH118) I changed my name so as not to bring any negative energy from the other place. This should be fun. :thankyou:

I just sent you a reply to your PM, but I don't see it in the "sent" folder, so not sure if you received it. Nothing big though, just a "thank you".
Take care,
Linda

It's nice that a lot of the classy and good folk from the other joint have joined here.
I want to change my username back to Jack the Stripper if I can?
@Scott Having trouble figuring out who you were at the other place?
-
Not sure, but i think Scott is one of the new guys Linda invited through her mailing lists.

I want to change my username back to Jack the Stripper if I can?
Done.
And yes it is good to finally put a(nother) name to you Bogblast as I had the feeling I was suppose to know you! :D

Thank you Linda I did get your PM. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused with the name change. Yesterday was the first time I clicked on "Hello Cleveland" so I didn't know what it was about. But I'm glad I did. :)

No confusion here, and totally understandable thought to use a different username (though I don't think that "TURCH118" ever carried any negative energy - as long as you don't call yourself "DROID", your energy is purely positive. :D
P.s.: The title "HELLO CLEVELAND! HELLO CLEVELAND!" puzzled me too, it was pure curiosity that led me to this thread. :)

Dozy is a weird one, but i think it's pretty obvious it's to introduce oneself. The reference is ofcourse Spinal Tap.

Thanks. It's been about 10 years that I watched that the last time, so I didn't remember that part. Aha, here it is:

I'm not gonna post multiple quotes for the sake of space, but I am/was SweetSymptom at the other place.
Was listening to a lot of Fight at the time, and on the 'War of Words' tour, abridged covers of 'Sweet Leaf' and 'Symptom of the Universe' formed a regular part of their setlist. I tended to just choose usernames at random, so that's where it came from. It helped that it was Sabbath related. :)

It's all good Scott, glad you're here.
-
Appreciate it, Bogblast! Apologies if I slip up now and then and refer to you as 'Turch' :)

That's not a problem either Scott. Both work just fine. It's not like I'm Batman trying to hide my true identity... shit, I am Batman.

If you're Batman, I'm Ritchie Blackmore.
:blackmore:

Do me a favor Ritchie, lose the pilgrim hat

At least that's pre-Minstrel Blackmore ;D
And if Zzzptm is Blackmore, I'm Rod Evans.

That Fight connection is very cool. I saw them on that tour. What a great gig it was...
Priest had never toured Australia up to that point so was a massive highlight for me to finally see Rob live and hear him sing Priest songs.
Don't recall him performing those Sabbath songs though. Hard to remember the gig in great detail but I do remember that Rob sounded incredible and that my mate & I hung around drinking way after the band had played and the two guitar players Brian Tilse and Russ Parish(aka Satchel from Steel Panther) ended up they came out and joined us drinking JD's and Sambuca shots. I also remember them making fun of Rob that he was too old too party and he preferred to go straight back to his hotel after shows. I still have a Fight pick that one of them gave me.

Awesome story. Thanks for sharing.
By the 1994 legs of the tour, they'd dropped the Sabbath tracks and started playing a couple more Priest tracks instead. I had a bootleg from the Australian tour, I forgot which show it was though. No idea where the cassette is, actually.
The first time Priest toured here would have been for Demolition, right?

Yep that's right, I went to that gig also....Was a great show as well. They played the same venue Fight played seven years earlier - The Palace in StKilda, which is sadly no longer there.
I dug out that Fight pick

Awesome. I'm gonna have to dig out that bootleg and see which show it was for.
Edit: it was Melbourne.
Also, welcome, Freeyyaa!

Hello, I'm Zzzptm, I'm back among the living.
I was involved in a major IT outage... all I want to say about it at this time is that every bit of security helps. Don't be complacent, but also don't give up the fight.

Oh...welcome back!

So this is your new "Outer Heaven" huh?
I was at another forum once, but things got ugly. I grew older now stopped caring over trivial matters that happen in internet forums. I'm under the impression things got ugly at the other forum as well. I have no problems there, but I can understand the frustration. I would like to read the details but I don't have access to it. That's okay, I don't want to end up moderating again after the first debacle I had with another forum I was put charge of.
In short, I was invited by Turch (Bogblast) around March 20th, after long inactivity over there so I figured of migrating over here as well. I'm probably not going be as active as I was years ago due to interest, but I like to idea of having more board options.
Rock on my brothers and sisters. :death:
PS There should be a Tony Iommi emoticon here since you got Jimi Hendrix one here. I think there is one you can get from the Official Iommi Board.

We do have an Iommi GIF, but I'll be up for an emoticon.

Not much man, just been working a lot at "The Factory" AKA Grocery Store, helping out watching my now six year old nephew. He's gotten into Slayer, but not heavily...yet. Gotta go in moderation, pun not intended.

Welcome to out little play ground! And yes some of us got banned from the other place basically for no reason so now we are having our non sensible ravings here and frankly we are enjoying ourselves quite a bit. :smug: :D ;D

Welcome 8-bit, good to see you. Yeah it got pretty ugly over there but I still post occasionally, sometimes keeping the fight going. Hope to see you often. :beerbang:

I’d like to introduce myself and say hi to everyone, I was looking for an introduction thread but couldn’t find one.
So I started this one, I hope to converse Sabbath and other related bands.
Black Sabbath is my thing, all eras of it.
-
Welcome on board!
This isn't really a "just" a Black Sabbath place though...in all honesty most of the conversations here are about other things. Sabbath is just a spice here not the whole meal.

Thank you for the Welcome.
Yes I see that by the bands you have listed, I haven’t read or been through all the discussions on here as of yet.
I like all kinds of music really, but the Sabs are my favorite, I like everything from Country Kenny Rogers to Disco, Bee Gees. I don’t discriminate.
Seems like a pretty cool place from the times I’ve been on here.
-
Welcome 8)

Sabbath is my favorite by far. 8) But, disco! Yikes. :puke:
Yes, I discriminate. :)

LOL, I used Disco as an example of different types of music I might enjoy, like for example if I were to watch Saturday Night Fever, I would enjoy The Bee Gees.

Welcome AnnoMundi, tell us a little about yourself. You mentioned that you like all era's of Sabbath but have you got a favourite? What other bands outside of Sabbath do you like? How did you discover this forum?

Thank you for the welcome, it’s good to be here.
Yes I like all eras of Sabbath, my preference is the Dio era, that’s how I discovered Sabbath.
I also like Metallica, Slayer, Dio, Iron Maiden and of course Judas Priest.
I came across this forum through the Black Sabbath Online Board, awhile back a member on there had this forum on his signature, I forget the members name now, I clicked on the link and saved it and once in awhile browsed on here.
My name at Black Sabbath Online Boards was ElvesWearBoots.
That’s how I came across this forum.

Welcome, welcome, glad to have you here!

Welcome Anno. I've seen you on the BSO forums. I'm TURCH118 over there. I'm the guy with the chip on his shoulder who gets ignored. :frustration: ;D Glad you are here.
Actually there is a thread in this category titled "Hello Cleveland" for introductions. I didn't know what it was till I clicked on it. But it's all good.

Ah...I do remember you from there...
Anyhow I hope you enjoy it here, as said there is a lot more freedom to talk about things and stuff here than there was at BSO as this is NOT just a Black Sabbath thing at all.

It's a friends hangout, simple as that :) We talk about all kinda stuff like friends would do with the respect friends would have. B)
-
Thank you all for the welcome once again!
@Bogblast, I saw that thread but didn't click on it, it didn't seem like an introduction thread.
I didn't spend much time over at the Sabbath boards, but I do remember some of you on there, haven't been there in awhile.
Can one of the Mods please change my username to ElvesWearBoots, I kinda like that name better, as it reflects Ronnie more.
I was on a Martin kick when I chose AnnoMundi, that song is so good absolutely one of Martin/Sabbath's best, but Dio is my thing and I want to show that.

Hi,
Typhon invited me here many moons ago and I registered a while back but I’m just getting around to my first post.
I was known as Wall of Sleep at the Black Sabbath forum and at the Iommi forum before that. Typhon asked me to keep my old user name but I decided not to do that. I chose that user name originally because that was the name of my “band” from the old mp3.com days. I named my band that because I was working the graveyard shift at the time and writing all of my music in a sleep deprived state. I really don’t have any connection to the song, other than that it’s a Sabbath song. I’m a huge Sabotage fan though and always wanted to change my forum name to Saboteur if I got the chance and so I did!
Anyway, I don’t really plan on being overly active here because Sabbath is no more and we pretty much hashed it all out during their demise, although you never know...
-
Welcome Saboteur.

But this is NOT just a Black Sabbath page...far from it! So you can talk about what ever you want with us here...so feel free to be as active as possible! ;)

Welcome Saboteur. I remember you quite well over at BSO. You had become quite the Rammstein fan. Is that still the case?
-
Glad you finally popped in Saboteur. :) But it is going to feel strange not calling you "Wall".

Hey! All right all right all right! Welcome to the forums, Wall/Saboteur!

Welcome aboard, Saboteur! Nice to see you again.

Welcome Saboteur, enjoy your stay!

Yeah, I know. But I’m finally living my dream!
Thanks for the invite Typhon.

Perhaps BSO stands for Bull Shit Organization.

I thought "wankers" was pretty much a British swear, I didn't think it had spread internationally! :P

Remember: Social Distancing!
I've been sitting at least 6 feet from my monitor whenever I'm online.
-
I'm 6 feet away from my keyboards, don't want to get sick from typing!
Thank goodness my telekinesis powers I've been working on kicked in early this morning. It's a real pleasure being able to press the keys and work the mouse through the power of my mind. :D
-
Well lucky for me I am a social outcast so my social distancing is easy...
In fact I can call it ANTISOCIAL distancing:
-
I see your Antisocial and I raise you an Institutionalized!
