Queen is a band that I have yet to really explore even though I have always had their first greatest hits compilation on board.
I have watched the movie Bohemian Rhapsody that I thought was excellent and this in turn has made me want to explore more Queen.
I know that some of you are well versed in this bands catalog and any help is appreciated on choosing some good albums to start with.

I liked early "rock" Queen up until around 1980/81, after that they went a little "pop" but still had some good stuff. I don't know if I'm expert though but the albums A Day at the Races and A Night At the Opera have a plethora of well known songs, as do Queen and Queen II and particularly Sheer Heart Attack. After that I'm not too sure but News of the World, Jazz and The Game all have well known songs on them.

There's a difference between Queen's super big smash hits and the rest of the album. The big hits are exactly that, while the rest of the album cuts are much more freewheeling and exploratory. Start with Day at the Races and see how the stuff that *isn't* Bohemian Rhapsody grabs you. :)

What are your favourite Quuen songs?

Tie Your Mother Down, Stone Cold Crazy and We Will Rock You...from the 80s stuff the Highlander Theme Who Wants To Live Forever is a great tune as well...

My favorite, for personal reasons, is "You're My Best Friend." I sing it with my wife of over three and a half decades. :D

Okay, most of these will be from the 70s:
Killer Queen
Fat Bottomed Girls
Somebody to Love
Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
Tenement Funster
Don't Stop Me Now
From the 80s
Hammer to Fall
... and yes I do like Bohemian Rhapsody but I've just heard it way to often now.
