Post by: KiloDeltaCharlie on June 15, 2020, 09:15:49 AM
Who would be carved on the side of your personal "Rock" Mount Rushmore.

Four names, no limitations!

Why only four? As I recall, it has five faces on it, all members of DP Mk2:

Ah, Crap!

It's being going around Facebook for a few months and I thought that was why it seemed a familiar idea! :(

Well, no reason my being a DP fanboy can't derail a second version of the thread.

I think this thread idea could be multi faceted under Mount Rushmore. Musical styles or themes, bands, band albums, Movies, actors, actors movies, directors, directors movies etc, etc.

I like that idea!

My original was just about singers anyways so maybe we could do a proper MOUNT RUSHMORE thread on the General side going one theme at a time?

That's a lot of chiseling, we're proposing... who's going to pay for it all?

And where can we find enough mount rushmores to chisel? We need quite a few now...

Nor even call it Ayers Rock, right? It's Uluru now.

Yes. It’s hard to get use to calling it Uluru but it’s ok to call it by both names.

Yeah, I thought it would be kinda hands-off... UNESCO World Heritage sites tend to be that way...

I'm guessing carving up Stonehenge is also a non-starter...

I've notified border security of your idea, a Mr J. Bond has been assigned your case!!

Is he also able to operate in Gibraltar, or did Brexit complicate that arrangement?

If it did, then Gibraltar ho!

If it did not, then I'mma keep looking...

https://www.touropia.com/largest-monoliths-in-the-world/ should help... that one in Nigeria looks pretty awesome...

Gibraltar is part of the UK and leaving the EU also... but we don't care about it! So by all means carve these faces on the Rock of Gibraltar, you may be abused by the monkeys though.

Deal!

Also, they don't yet have DP faces on them, soooo...

:smug:

Please carve DP Mk 2 on Gibraltar, as well. Thank you.

But... if we make it the Rock of Guitar-tar, I'd have the following four:

Tony Iommi
Ritchie Blackmore
Jimi Hendrix
Jimmy Page

Those are the guitarists who launched a million bands. And we'd make a mint in licensed merchandise.

Now, if it wasn't a commercial venture, I'd replace Jimmy Page with Leslie West.
