Title: RIP - Dave Greenfield (The Stranglers)

The keyboard player with The Stranglers, Dave Greenfield died in hospital Sunday 3rd May from complications from COVID-19 he caught while in hospital with a heart issue, he was 71.

He was an original member of the band and one of the most accomplished keyboard players around:

He was often compared to The Doors Ray Manzarek, but in an interview awhile back he said his inspirations were Jon Lord and Rick Wakeman.

Kind of annoys me that his death hasn’t even made mainstream news here. If it was one of those one hit wonder teen pop stars from the 70’s or 80’s it would.

The main news bulletins here are all about Covid-19 at the moment, other stories at the end so they may have mentioned his death at the end of programme but I didn't notice. The BBC website had it quite prominent for a while but it's now slipped to the Entertainment and Arts pages.
