Title: Ozzy Osbourne-Ordinary Man
Post by: AnnoMundi on February 20, 2020, 12:18:45 PM
Will anyone here be getting the new Ozzy album due out tomorrow?

Has anyone heard the new album yet?

From what I've heard I will not be getting it. I doubt it'll be worse than Scream but still the three songs I've heard leave much to be desired for...

Maybe, but I might leave it a while to when I have some spare cash.

Yeah I’m not too crazy about what I’ve heard, the album was leaked, I’ve heard some songs through a friend   Goodbye is pretty good, the start is reminiscent of Iron Man, don’t think I’ll waist my cash on it though.

I’ll be buying it as it’s just standard procedure for me to buy a new Ozzy album when it comes out.

I did give it a listen today and thought it was ok without being great. Some typical good Ozzy vocal melodies but no real standout riffs or memorable hooks which I’m not too accustomed with an Ozzy album.  Scary Little Green Men was probably my favourite track so far.

Anyone think Goodbye is an ode or nod to Iron Man?

Has anyone heard Goodbye?

No comments, doesn’t seem like a whole lot of interest fir a new Ozzy album.

Nope not heard it, not bought it, it's not a priority at the moment. But I probably will get it, the trouble is the songs I have heard don't excite me that much.  :(

I was hoping to get the new Demons and Wizzards album Friday but the couriers have lost the parcel!!

Not a lot of interest in general for new albums around here it seems  ;)

So why the Bill Ward-ish looking guy in the video? Hmmm...

Still, that's a fun track, I might sample that one and leave the rest of the album behind.

As for new albums, I am totally stoked for what DP might put out and I'm anticipating Sky Valley Mistress' new album in March. Lowrider just put out a new album, and it's incredible. So, yes, I'm interested in new albums, just not *all* the new albums. :)

I can understand that, they haven't excited me either, and I've heard the entire album that was leaked, and just because that Post Malone song is on there, which I think is horrible, I'm not buying it, I don't believe in stealing music so I'm not going to burn the leaked album, even though my friend offered to burn it for me.

Thats actor Jason Momoa(Justice League, Aquaman) He is a huge metal head and is doing his best Ozzy impersonation in this video.

I was referring as a collective, not individual btw

Jack I hope I didn’t offend you with the above comment., I was just being humorous, and really like Men at Work, back in the 80’s their music was allover the place.

Sometimes people can’t tell when I’m joking, my apologies if I offended you my friend.

Ozzy is working on a new album already, Andy Watts again.

Thank you my friend. Jackyboy was said in a friendly manner, like one friend says to another.

Ordinary man is not a bad album at all, gotta give it to Ozzy.

I can’t believe he’s already working on a new album and this one was just released, he cancelled the tour so he’ll have plenty of time now and being he’s going through therapy and resting he’ll have plenty of time on his hands to give us a great album.

Where you seeing he’s already working on another album? Tbh I’d much rather my favourite artist churn out music at a regular rate over touring anyday. Release an album every 1-2 years, like they use to once upon at time.

Yes already working on a new album, being has all the time to do it, I’m like you I’d rather be release good music than touring for the album.

I was hoping Sabbath would’ve done another album after 13, stop touring and just focus on make great albums, and if they chose to do a show here and there fine, I think the fans would rather have the music to listen to, to rather them touring.

I mean they’re up there In age now they could sit in a studio day and night with no pressure and put out good music and bring Bill back.

That is what Ozzy is doing now and God bless him, I know tours generate more money, these guys are up there in age and I m sure the fan base would understand and would rather have the make an album a musical document they can have and hold onto as a testament to there career. Which doesn’t really need proving anymore.

They’re the kings, the Masters of Rock and Metal.

Long live Sabbath and Sabbath forever!!!

Agree with everything you say here.

I’ve seen every band I’ve ever wanted to see and a lot of them countless times. The only interest I have in seeing live bands these day’s is to take my son along who’s developed into a big metal/music fan. Or if it is a bands final tour.

Mid-week sales in the UK show the album at No. 2 which would be his best UK chart position as a solo artist (Blizzard got to No. 7). It probably won't stay there due to first week front loading but I think it could stay in the Top 5.

That's pretty odd to be honest...

BUT Ozzy has been in the news quite a bit so the album has gotten some free press now.

Not yet but probably sometime today. I have budgeted a few hours for a brew and the album later this afternoon. I will let you know by later today or tomorrow.

I listened to it 3 times. A mixed feeling tbh. Compositions are pretty good especially the ballads and the more melodic titles (Ordinary Man). But this feeling that everything is prefabricated, reworked, doubled, overproduced, autotunes to death, compressed by hydraulic press leaves me with a bitter taste. Ozzy's voice becomes sterile. I ask myself the question: is this a synthetic voice given its current performance and capabilities?
If this album was released 10 years ago, it might be a masterpiece but I have big doubts about the sincerity of the product although I think it is certainly the last album of Ozzy.Several winks to his past career let it predict.
No comment about this curious line-up.

I have been listening to the album for a week straight in my car! Its a good album but I really don't like Its A Raid and and the bonus Post Malone track that much. I have not skipped them yet on my play throughs, but they are definitely my least favorite.  It is definitely one of Ozzy's better albums in recent times.

Final chart position in the UK was No. 3... it held on very well  after its mid-week sales suggested it was in 2nd.

Thanks for posting this Jack, it was pretty emotional watching this, as it was for Ozzy, great video for a great song.
Nice he showed Bill as part of the band too, instead of cutting him out.
