This took me by surprise as I had no idea he was suffering from brain cancer. Well FUCK CANCER!!!!
R.I.P. to a true Canadian and Classic Rock icon!!

Well that is well and truly a bummer. Indeed, FUCK CANCER!

I saw that last night.
I watched Fred Armisen's Standup for Drummers in his memory.

This has come as a real shock to most Rush fans and fans and admirers of Neil Peart. Was to be one of the most graceful retirements ever but sadly cancer has taken him only a few years into it. Just so sad! RIP to an absolute master and icon.

I had no idea myself, this is shocking news!
R.I.P. Neil Peart.

I do remember reading about his cancer diagnosis some time ago...
Very sad news though...
Interestingly he was the same age as Ronnie when he died...of cancer...
So I'll echo the sentiment FUCK CANCER!

You might be thinking of someone else. His cancer diagnosis and battle was kept secret. Apparently only family, very close friends inc Geddy & Alex knew about it.

I think his original retirement in 2015 was because of severe tendonitis in his neck, I'm wondering if that was a little *fib* to conceal the the true nature of the problem, or if it was an early symptom.

I was thinking that myself but they’re saying he was suffering for 3 years which doesn’t fit his retirement time line but who knows, maybe it was an early sign that things weren’t right.
