Curious to know your thoughts on the new song. Released the same day as the Ozzy song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmG2srrqonk

Not bad but pretty stock standard fair from the King. Nothing really stands out or excites about the song. I detect a little bit of Ghost creeping in in the chorus though.

I am unfamiliar with this band, so my observation must be taken with a grain of salt.  The high pitch of the voices in this tune is just not cutting it for me.  Is this a typical trait in some of their other songs?

Not a big fan of King Diamond either and yes it is exactly because of his singing. He overuses the falsetto and I've always found his voice very thin in comparison with Rob Halford, Ripper, Jon Oliva and such.

like Jack, I don't detect anything transcendent. The track is good, but nothing more. King Diamond doing King Diamond. However, good solo by Andy LaRocque and King is at the top. as often the production is rather weak and lacks depth. I would have liked to hear Livia too. His wife brings something new to his world.
I'm still curious to listen to the whole album.

I heard it was going to be a double album! I am definitely looking forward to this album. Yes the Kings voice is an acquired taste. He is certainly way past his prime but still sounds good nevertheless. I am also looking forward to hearing some new Mercyful Fate stuff with the new tour coming up. King is going to be busy in 2020!

Yep, King is King.

If I'm going to listen to really high-pitched falsetto, I'll choose Bollywood over King Diamond. Never got into KD or Mercyful Fate, but I *did* get into Bollywood!
