Actually a lot of countries don't have DST at all.

In Europe it tends to be the last weekend in October and in the Americas it tends to be the 1st weekend in November. In the Southern Hemisphere it's reversed so Jack probably started DST 1st weekend in October. :)

EDIT: Which he just confirmed!

I managed to, yet again, successfully navigate the "fall back" time procedure. I cannot properly put into words how grateful I am that our timekeeping overlords hath provided one extra hour of sweet, sweet sunlight from the giant vitamin D injector in the sky.

Oh, wait. I suddenly realized I don't give a shit about this silly anachronism that is still being practiced.

It's always been the last sunday of October here...

I gotta say this whole daylight savings time is probably one of the dumbest inventions of all time. It has no benefits only causes trouble.

Luckily now in the EU they are saying it needs to go...but for some reason it takes years and years to actually make it happen...which I don't understand.

India did away with it as did much of South America and Africa.

In the USA, Arizona doesn't observe it and they seem to be doing not all that badly. Certainly, still better than Florida... :)

DST was the idea of a bird watcher who wanted the clock to move to suit his druthers. It was adopted in WW1 in the mistaken belief that it would lead to less civilian coal consumption for lighting. It did not, but wars have a nasty habit of making people at the top demand all kinds of crazy things that never go away after the war is over...

Not here...

March 29th is the day.

Hopefully for the last time...However now our idiot government starts to think that summer time would be better eventhough EVERY SINGLE expert says the absolute opposite. But then again our government now is the "bimbo and more bimbo" government so dumb decisions are to be expected..

It's a mess when the nations that go on summer time all do it on different weekends. Agh! I do wish it would stop, as it really doesn't do any good. Just move the clocks a half-hour as a compromise and LEAVE them there!

I don’t mind the hour going back in Fall, but I hate losing that hour in Spring, makes the weekend go by so fast.

I wish they would end it, I really don’t see the logic behind it.

What's so rotten is having to readjust my inner clock when the time change hits.

I also travel to NYC next week, so that's even more fun for my inner clock. I'll be waking up at all kinds of hours...
