Actually had an afternoon nap. :) Totally messed up my head for the rest of the evening.
Was thinking this could become some kinda "random thought" thread...

Well, with only 4 posts so far, it technically is a random sort of thread. Also, I'm streaking towards 200 as I type this.

:awesome:

You just keep getting closer to the band...  :headbanger:
Suddenly some moronic thought pops up in my head, and i'll just have to share it, so this'll be the thread for that

Fair enough. 199 with this one.

Shitfuck! Trying to make an evil sounding riff, but i just can't find the right notes for certain parts. Went very well this morning when i had just smoked a joint, but since then i've puffed the self imposed 1 g dosage for a couple of days. And i'm broke...
Title: Re: Guess what
Post by: Zzzptm on February 14, 2018, 04:52:11 PM
How about you take the riff from "Breadfan" and downtune it to D minor?
Title: Re: Guess what
Post by: Billy Underdog on February 14, 2018, 04:56:55 PM
Doesn't fit the rhythm, though, which is lifted off of one bar from the intro for Metallicas Minus Human... And it's more chromatic scaled than blues scaled...
Title: Re: Guess what
Post by: Zzzptm on February 14, 2018, 05:05:28 PM
OK... how about taking Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and playing every other note? Who'd notice the difference?

Taking all the disharmonics out, leaving it basically blues based? Kinda contradict the purpose. But thanx for the tip :)
Will probably come up with something tomorrow...

Why the hell would someone hack my e-mail and have half of the mails forwarded? As if there's anything interesting in my life for others to read...
Hacking should be done by whistleblowers, WikiLeaks and Anonymous with a purpose, not random idiots for no reason!!!  >:( :naughty: :wall:

Email hacking is done for all kinds of reasons... mainly to see if the same username/password combo also work for banking sites, government sites, or other places with potential benefits. It probably was part of a bulk job, nothing against you personally.

Yeah...most likely a bulk thing just to get the password...

Change the password for something longer and you should be fine.

For fuckings fuck fuckings sake, now i've been sitting for two days writing, playing and nitpicking on a couple of riffs to finish a tune, and when i'm finally going to try to record a quick sketch on my phone either my fingers won't follow my head, or i forget the different parts that move between the riffs. FUCK!

Best thing for a hangover in the morning is getting blackout drunk the night before.

The cure for hangovers:
A couple of joints (if you like those)
Coke. The soda... Real Coke!
Fat and salty food like burgers & fries, bacon & eggs or sodd.

Had it all, so now i'm fine & dandy again   :)

First time in 17 years i've went downhill skiing. 6 runs in 3 h, when i sat in the lift up for the first run i wasn't at all sure i would even manage one.
Feels fucking great, beat up in the back, hips, thighs, knees and feet, and will get worse during the evening, but it's still fucking great. A real high, both feeling that i still had the technique and control though the body isn't in any particularly good shape any longer, and being exhausted because of having done something so good for both body and soul.

There must be more to come before spring arrives, suddenly winter isn't just crappy any longer.

Disclaimer: This is not for education, but for entertainment only!!!

This one junkie dealer i sometimes buy from gets hundreds of various pills containing morphine and benzodiazepines (stronger varieties of Valium, if you like) a month. Which ofcourse is way too much for any serious doctor to prescribe. But he's a stuborn bastard, so he sits in the docs office refusing to leave until he gets what he want. Which he usually does.  ::)
Anyways, he got this months ration last week, and i guess he'd sold too much so he didn't have any own supply.
So the sneaky bastard smashed his own front door, reported it to the police, the pills amongst other things as stolen, and he got new prescriptions today.   :o
I find that both shocking and hillarious. That's really going to the extreme to get a fix. What a cunning shithead.  :twitch:
Drugs make people do crazy stuff, both in positive and negative ways...  :whistling:

Every so often, there's a story about how some dealer got high and then turned himself in... then tried to argue that the confession and resultant search warrant have to be thrown out since he was high when he did all that and couldn't be considered of sound mind in such a state.

We'd just make a new forum where you and "your guys" would have to go and make your own "sandbox", but then it'd just turn out that this place dies because all the cool active guys gets banned or leaves with you...

We could make it very complicated and only ban people from one part of the forums at a time... and then grant access back in a similar granular fashion.

We would need a courtroom section of the forums for all the appeals, lol.

I've drank alot of weird stuff during my most alcoholic periods, including Akvavit, which is really disgusting... Dish water and Sake is not included. I've got standards, man... :-P

might have to travel to Norway for it then I suppose... :D

Been inviting you over for years now, so it's about time. Hurry up before i enter rehab again, though... :P

Guess what...

The reason i was in Trondheim today (the closest big city, 12 metric miles away) was for a start-up meeting for another stint at rehab. Yeah, ironic i went to a pub having a beer to kill time while waiting for the bus back afterwards...
Alcohol isn't my biggest issue anyways this time, like the last time when i could drink half a liter of 85/90% moonshine a day, and was really out of it. Actually i've been pretty good the last half year in relation to where i once was. This time it's to take that final step that i don't seem able to do on my own...

Anyways, that wasn't the guess what...

I'm standing at the bus stop, with lots of time, and the fucking bus just drives by. IT JUST FUCKING DROVE BY!!!!
So not wanting to wait till the nighttrain, which would be about now, not being home until 1 tonight i called my father to ask if he bothered to come pick me up halfways. More buses and trains going there, as that's a connection point for two valleys going side by side down the mid-southern part of Norway. He bothered, so i started checking schedules online. I ofcourse don't have the app for the railway system, and checking it out via "normal" internet doesn't work on the cell... A bit of a drizzling rain too (and already having used some battery while posting the stupid comment above) made the screen freeze, which drained my 55% battery power. Yes, i've got an old phone.
So there i am, with no idea when, or if any trains or buses would leave before the nighttrain, and with no way to contact my father is so.
Talk about Murphy's law... At this point i took tomorrows dose of sedatives. It's really those i'm addicted to at the moment, there's only the occational getting drunk or smoking some joints. And i've been dreading this day for a while, as it's got some meaning for my future, so i was already exhausted.
I get four pills of nitrazepam from the legal drug dealer called the pharmacy every other day, and having already taken tomorrows dose i'm not exactly looking forward till tomorrow either... Benzodiazepams are highly addictive, there's others on this forum who could tell you the same if they'd choose to.
So i'm hurrying around town, with a foot that's still hurting alot from being sprained over two weeks ago.
But luckily i met a good samaritan who let me borrow his phone. Now, the only numbers i got imprented in my mind is my own and my mothers. But she doesn't answer unknown numbers, as they're usually salesmen or such. So not only did he let me call twice, but also send a couple of texts to say it was me calling. AND he let me call again ten minutes later, when she finally answered.
Then; three more FUCKING EXPENSIVE railway pub beers in an hour while waiting for the bus to go.
Now, here's the kicker: the busdriver couldn't figure out his card terminal, so he just told me to get on board without paying. Atleast some of those expensive beers vanished in what would've been the bus ticket.
And, yes, i sent that guy a thank you VERY much-text when i came home.
Rant over, drinking a Smirnoff Ice and planning to go to bed when i've eased down a bit. I know this is probably of no interest to anybody but me, but i just had to shout about it somewhere...

Mike drop...

We should really have a mike drop smiley...

I feel your pain my brother! What a shit show benzodiazepines are - I wish I had never had them prescribed in the first place.
It is a shame that we are not closer to each other - so I could help you out tomorrow with a Clonazepam or one of my emergency Xanax.

Quite a story there buddy...happy ending though which is nice. :)

Sorry to hear about your troubles with medication...There was a point when I was given some benzodiazepines but I never even got them from the pharmacy....Psychoactive drugs is the one thing I will never ever have. I always fear they will change me and make me delusional that I might not be the hideous thing I actually am which could lead to some extremely unwanted and hurtful situations with people...
Title: Re: Guess what

Psychoactive drugs is the one thing I will never ever have.

Erhmm... Codeine is psychoactive... Even caffeine and nicotine is considered psychoactive. I get what you mean, though, by drugs that "change you". In that regard Benzos aren't any more "mind altering" than opiates (and their derivatives, which codeine is). Only thing is that opiates are even more addictive. And alcohol is just as much, if not more, mind altering than cannabis.
If you really wanna go into what's mind altering, then you'll have to get into hallucinogens like mdma ("ecstacy") or psychedelics (LSD, Mushrooms etc...)
Title: Re: Guess what
Post by: Charger on March 22, 2018, 05:36:27 AM
No mind altering for me thank you.

Did not know Codeine was considered psychoactive. It most certainly doesn't work for that way!

I took amitriptyline for pain for a short stint but that (being used as for depression also) messed up my head a little bit so I had to cut that short.

I am rather certain for sure having eaten codeine for over 15 years now that I am addicted to it but that doesn't matter as long as it works and I keep getting it.
Title: Re: Guess what

It most certainly doesn't work for that way!

It can be very hard to tell by yourself. I've gone around not being myself at all without knowing many times.
It's most notable when you suddenly haven't got them any longer. If you think you're depressed now, try going a couple of days without them...

I took amitriptyline for pain for a short stint but that (being used as for depression also) messed up my head a little bit so I had to cut that short.

Anti depressants for pain? Never heard that one before... I know some are used to help sleep, esp. in treatment for addiction, as they're considered less addictive. But they most certainly will mess with your head, yes. Can be good for the right person in the right setting. I've tried shitloads, but still haven't found one that works for me. Actually trying stuff for the second time too now, i'm that desperate. Have been taking mirtazapine the last month. If anything they just make me more depressed, so i'm going to quit them again...

After 15 years you are definitely addicted. But as long as you keep to the prescription and don't start overusing them you should be fine. Atleast as long as your doc doesn't deside to cut you off for whatever reason. You don't strike me as the type of person who'd take one or two extra just to get a little buzz, though, and having been on them for so long the doc should have a very valid reason for cutting you off...

Addiction is a struggle that never ends. It can take years, even decades, before finding the right frame of mind needed to stay sober... and then there's always the question of one day at a time... Sure, you've been sober all these other days before today, but are you going to be sober today? You can't drop a guard, ever.

Yeah they are quite commonly prescribed for pain here...especially for chronic pain. My mom is on amitriptyline for her shoulder pain. I assume it is because it both alleviates pain and ease sleeping...

It's Latin. Depending on the context, it can mean "Come and take them" or "My hovercraft is full of eels".

Nah, actually i was just setting up for that bad accent joke, for the amusement of you and others. I know i've been pulling your leg a bit hard lately, but it's just meant as good fun, nothing more...

I actually think Moron Rabe has a nice ring to it. And given the original meaning, it kinda gives it a new meaning, pretty open for interpretation.

It could've been a cool band name or song title...

In 480 B.C. when the massive Persian army encountered the Greek forces at Thermopylae, King Xerxes saw that the Persians outnumbered the Greeks by more than 100 to 1.  He then sent a message to King Leonidas of Sparta saying that if the Greeks were to lay down their weapons, then he would let them live.  King Leonidas sent a message back stating "molon labe" which is greek for "come take".  Translating into the way we speak today, it would say "Come and take them!"

I know a pic of this book was posted somewhere else, but i can't remember where. I replied "hey, i've got that book, but haven't gotten around to check it out yet".

Well, now i've been playing around with it a bit (in both meanings of the word), and i have to say i'm disappointed. Instead of bothering to figure out if the chords should be major or minor they've just put in 5's, or so-called "Power Chords". Yes, that's the way Iommi does it, but playing two-string chords on an uke doesn't really work. At all...

Also 8 of the 18 songs are from the wrong Sabbath... :(

Edit: I can see the pic says 20 songs, so it's probably another print i've got, though it looks exactly the same..

So, my band just had it's first gig tonight. At a country themed birthday party. Some 60-80 people, we went on at 10, so people were still arriving.
We play pretty heavy covers of Stones, Lou Reed, Creedence, Johnny Cash and such (Lead Rock), so was wondering how that crowd would react. But it seemed they liked it pretty much. Some were even rocking out a bit, and they actually shouted "more, more!" when we were done. And we got loads of compliments afterwards.
One of the guys whos birthday it was (one of the owners of the rehearsal place we're renting, and the reason we got to play) was genuinely grateful, and the sound-guy/leader of the main band, a country guy i haven't really gotten too well along with in the past, was up in arms and totally facinated with mixing that kind of songs with that style of music. I guess that's a pretty nice compliment.
Most important; we've had a gig, people have heard us and know our name. Now we're a real band.

It was recorded on a phone, so depending on the sound quality it might pop up on youtube.

And i'm entering rehab at Monday. How Rock N' Roll isn't that  :beerbang:

Let me be the first to congratulate you on a successful first gig Billy.  :)  Now that your name is out there, you will likely get more gigs and grow from there.  Soon you will need a manager and perhaps a road crew for setup.  Opening your own studio would follow and then the creation of your own record company, with staff, musicians under contract and a stable of high end performers.  Soon offices start popping up, first in Europe and then all over the globe!  Your now incorporated, making money hand over fist.  Increasing profits whilst stepping on the little man!  :o You insane, greedy, capitalistic bastard!

Thanx. And; we played for free, dude...

But, yeah, both the arranger and the sound-guy said it would be cool to do something again.
Got a friend with a studio, so when i'm entering rehab now i'll most likely hook up with him, both to do something together and maybe record some own stuff.
But if i ever get in that position; sure i would like to get my pay for the work i'm doing, but i've got no interest in earning alot more than i need to get by. If i'm ever lucky enough to end up in a position where i do anyway, i'll use it for good things for more than just myself.

Should probably not plan future echonomics based on a first low-key gig, though... :P

I thought you understood satire.  And why do you keep spelling economics "echonomics"?

O.k., for fucks sake, i confess. I want shitloads of money so i can buy shitloads of drugs. Oh, wait. Supposed to quit those... Hmmm... What to do with all that money then?

Let me be the first to congratulate you on a successful first gig Billy.  :)  Now that your name is out there, you will likely get more gigs and grow from there.  Soon you will need a manager and perhaps a road crew for setup.  Opening your own studio would follow and then the creation of your own record company, with staff, musicians under contract and a stable of high end performers.  Soon offices start popping up, first in Europe and then all over the globe!  Your now incorporated, making money hand over fist.  Increasing profits whilst stepping on the little man!  :o You insane, greedy, capitalistic bastard!

The video have given us fans in Mexico, Egypt, Germany, Australia and the U.S. Axe wants us to make an EP so he can buy it. We're fucking world famous already.  ;D
Now it's just kick back and watch the cash start rolling in, right? That's how it works, RIGHT!?!?  :excited:

Was at the Norwegian National Music Museum today, just a couple of hundred meters from the crappy place i am at the moment, and i just stopped and stood drooling over these two beauties, a '52 Les Paul and a '64 P-bass. (The '83 Tele is only there because it'd belong to one of Norways most famous musicians the last 50 yrs, one of the vocalists in Prudence, whom you'll find some tunes by in the "check this out"-thread...)

Quite true indeed. I think he probably counted on the media's biased view to pull it off. CNN was all over this like a dung beetle on a pile of shit. But then again CNN isn't news it is just a left wing propaganda machine..

Wow, amazing that you guys can detect all the bias in CNN but somehow don't see the echo chamber over at Fox news...

For the record, CBS was calling BS on the story pretty early on. Pretty sure "Black Trump supporters" were what got them to start asking questions.

Speaking of "other stupidities", CBS also did a good job of calling BS on another guy that cried wolf.

That whole thing about the border wall being an emergency situation? Yeah, Trump is dead wrong on that. He's just as much of a manipulative liar as that Smollett guy. Difference is, Smollett can get fired and go to jail for his nonsense. Trump can't get prosecuted until he leaves office.

I have never questioned Fox's bias..never. But honestly CNN is on a whole different level nowadays...and the problem is that lot of media here takes CNN news as truth, where as they quite often are not...or atleast just show a very one sided twisted view of things.

CBS has still had some integrity I think...their reports have actually been pretty objective from what I've gathered.

McDonald’s in a pickle over April Fools’ Day prank gone wrong

An April Fool’s Day prank by McDonald’s in Australia backfired in a big way for the fast-food chain.  Angry customers lashed out after they learned that the advertised new burger, the McPickle, was not actually going to be added to the McDonald’s menu in Australia.

“Pickle lovers, it’s the news you’ve all been waiting for. We’re super stoked to announce the launch of our brand new McPickle Burger,” a post on Instagram read. “It’s time to tuck into juicy, flavoursome pickles layered between melted cheese, ketchup sauce and toasted sesame seed buns. It’s sure to be a treat for all your senses. #dailynuggets #mcpickle #pickleoverload #maccas #imlovinit”

The new menu item instantly picked up fans as Instagram users celebrated the two-layered burger filled with pickles, cheese and ketchup.

“I want this now,” one comment declared.

“I’m gonna order 1000,” another wrote.

“Omg it’s a burger designed for me,” one comment read.

But the celebrating was short-lived as it became clear that McDonald’s had pulled a fast one.

“This shouldn’t be a joke,” one person commented, while another wrote, “why does this have to be an April fools prank.”

There were some angry reactions on Twitter as well.

I guess those Aussies sure like pickles.  :)

I wrote and posted this elsewhere a long time ago...

Considering that Blow on a Jug includes only half of the band, it is clear that, whereas often dismissed as mere "studio noodling", Blow on a Jug serves to highlight just how incredibly talented Black Sabbath is.

In less than a minute, Ozzy and Bill create a sound-space that is at once both intimate and expansive. On its surface, the simplistic melody, stripped down instrumentation, and plaintive vocals recommend it for quick and easy categorization: "Aha, that's just some dudes messing about in the studio!" The more astute listener will be rewarded with so very much more…

"Blow on a jug," intones the vocalist. That masterpiece of wordsmithing is planted firmly in the musical ground, as if a banner which defies ignoring. Blow on a jug…reach beyond yourself, transcend the norm and self-actualize! The path to enlightenment lies this way, all you have to do is free your mind of the shackles that heretofore have been unseen, yet very real. You've thought yourself free? True freedom awaits...

"Everybody come on," sung with rousing emotion, serves as an invitation. An all-inclusive invitation; no one is excluded. The invitation, of course, is to blow on a jug.

"Be like me," he sings. The listener understands that he would not ask them to do something that he himself would not, in fact, do. Which as we all know by now, is blow on a jug.

"I want you to," cajoles the singer. He cares about you, he wants what is best and right for you, and makes his intention perfectly clear: he wants you to blow on a jug.

Finally, the assumption is made: with such a simple, easy, and positive activity who could possibly resist? "Everyone begin, blow on a jug." Ozzy and Bill know that you're smart, insightful, and want what is best for yourself, so rather than question whether or not you're going to blow on the jug, they are confident you made the right choice and provide you with a starting point. A beginning, if you will. Had Hollis Brown taken this good advice, it is certain he wouldn't have bought those seven shotgun shells. When is it time to blow on a jug? The time is now, my friend.

This turn of the discussion raises some questions:

1. Seventh Star...Iommi solo project or Black Sabbath masterpiece?

2. My flip flops...buy new ones for this summer or wait until the straps on these break?

3. RJD...a cock-gobbling midget or a tamer of tigers for all those rainbows in the dark?

4. Dave Walker...could he have led Black Sabbath onto heights even Ozzy in his prime couldn't achieve?

5. Genres...is Blackened Crust Punk really a thing or does someone have too much time on their hands?

1. SS is the best Iommi solo album to come out under the Black Sabbath band name in the 80s.

2. Have the new flip flops in your back pocket to minimize downtime.

3. RJD = tamer of tigers, next question please.

4. Yes.

5. Critics these days... sheesh...

1. Seventh Star...Iommi solo project or Black Sabbath masterpiece?= I'd like to think of Black Sabbath with at least two of the original members, but if it says Black Sabbath on the cover what choice do I have?

2. My flip flops...buy new ones for this summer or wait until the straps on these break? = Don't wear flip flops, just boots even in the summer time, not a beach goer.

3. RJD...a cock-gobbling midget or a tamer of tigers for all those rainbows in the dark? = Both bad descriptions.

4. Dave Walker...could he have led Black Sabbath onto heights even Ozzy in his prime couldn't achieve? = No of course not, this is just plain silly.

5. Genres...is Blackened Crust Punk really a thing or does someone have too much time on their hands?= Never heard of it, someone must have too much time on their hands.

I bet Iommi is sitting on the master tapes for it. Maybe there were one or two acetates made, but no known pressings of a Walker-fronted Black Sabbath performing "Little Drummer Boy". Or was it "Santa Baby"?

For one track, it was actually the tune for "Blues for Christmas" . Lyrics were still formative, but mostly dealt with losing a loved one around that time of year, feelings of loss, etc. Of course, Ozzy refused to sing it, opining that he didn't want to have Sabbath be "... another [expletive deleted] Slade, singing 'Merry Christmas Everyone' every [expletive deleted] December to the end of [expletive deleted] time..." (Ozzy, it should be noted, was cited by Gordon Ramsay as one of his biggest influences growing up.)

Another track took a down-tuned version of Greensleeves, with the question "What child is this?" answered not in a religious fashion, but in a sort of "look at all the kids suffering" fashion. Ozzy's rant included the following barb: "Oh great, [expletive deleted] "Child in Time" for [expletive deleted] Christmas, just what we [expletive deleted] needed. I'm NOT [expletive deleted] screaming, if that's what you're [expletive deleted] thinking."

The third track was a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)", done pretty straightforward. The version with Walker sounds great - I got to hear it at a ***VERY SPECIAL*** Black Sabbath listening party - but Ozzy never got around to recording it. He was actually in favor of that one: "Now John [expletive deleted] Lennon, he can [expletive deleted] write a [expletive deleted] song!" There were, however, litigation concerns about dealing with material still under Apple's copyright control, so that one got shelved.

Z, are you in the Black Sabbath inner circle? Man that is some rare stuff, I never heard of these, please elaborate I’d love to hear the story.

I liked Soundgarden's music, myself.  Not that that has any relevance.  But the main reason the name was suggested was because of the song Black Hole Sun he sang.  If that song did not exist, then it would never have been suggested.

Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez tried to pander to her Bronx constituents by claiming she doesn’t know what a garbage disposal is because she grew up in the ‘hood, where garbage disposals don’t exist. (Yes, they do.)

For the record, AOC grew up in the posh hamlet of Yorktown Heights in Westchester, New York, where the median household income is a cushy $96,000 a year.  That’s almost double the U.S. average, which is $53,000 a year.

She made the laughable claim about discovering what a garbage disposal is at the age of 29 in a contrived Instagram video:

AOC grew up there because her family - not just parents - worked hard at multiple jobs to afford living there. Prior to that, they were in a pretty rough Bronx apartment. She's a fresh voice that takes a lot of crap because she actually took down a career politician, and the major interests that that guy supported want to see her gone. I recently watched a documentary with her in it. Admittedly, it was putting her in a positive light, but that positive light didn't strike me as incongruous with what she was saying and doing. I think she'll do a fine job.

Back to the garbage disposal, they were banned in NYC until 1997. They didn't catch on much after that. Other things missing from most NYC apartments are washers, dryers, and central air conditioning.

As for the sea level thing...

1. Measuring the mean sea level is a thing, and it's tricky to do, but it gets done. And it's rising.
2. That professor is making pretty much a "rational markets" argument, saying that humans are adaptable, we'll be fine in the long run. While, yes, I can also do with less sensationalism in how the media handles a lot of things, there's still the matter of Houston flooding, again and again. There's the issues with beachfront communities up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Yes, we're adaptable, but the disasters impact us in the short run, and the pain they inflict is real.

And nowhere did I say a person with a contrarian view regarding prevailing views in climatology is a white supremacist. How ironic, posting a brief interview with a guy decrying sensationalism and then going sensationalist.

And yet her critics swallow whole any stupidity flowing out of Trump's mouth... well, say what you will, but AOC uses actual words when she speaks. In the right order, even!

Trump called for draining the swamp, then went about appointing people to run departments with tight connections to the industries they were regulating. That's expanding the swamp, not draining it. AOC is actually a politician that, by virtue of her being elected over the career of the guy she beat in the primary, is draining the swamp.

Sounds fine to me.

Seems like there's a ton of people over at Fox News and associated media outlets that are terrified at the thought of a woman in a position of authority who doesn't seem ready to do whatever the men around her want her to do. Betsy DeVos is pliant and stupid, no threat there. AOC has a spine and is intelligent, so of course they tear into her.

At the same time, there's a blind eye turned towards things like Trump University, a massive fraud. Or how Trump defaulted on payments to workers and contractors time and again. It's like his supporters *want* total bullshit and that anyone who speaks truth to power makes them break out in a rash.

No rationale for defending AOC? From someone who supports a leader who, at last count...

1. Lied about Obama's attendance at college.
2. Threatened his former schools with legal action if they released his grades.
3. Did the whole "birther" stupidity about Obama.
4. Carried on with the "birther" stupidity even after Obama produced a long-form birth certificate, providing ample documentation of his US Citizenship from birth.
5. Gave a speech in which he expressly said that the overwhelming majority of Mexican immigrants are rapists and drug dealers, which is both inaccurate as well as highly racist. And anyone who says it isn't racist needs to check to see if he himself is a racist...
6. Insisted that Mexico would pay for the wall. That's some of that total bullshit his supporters love.
7. Insulted every POW through insulting John McCain.
8. Dodged military service with a bogus medical claim. For a guy with bone spurs, he sure gets around the golf course a lot.
9. Promised not to golf one day as president. More total bullshit.
10. Attacked Megyn Kelly when she asked him a hard question in a debate - same venom he directs at AOC.
11. After two of his supporters beat a Latino and then urinated on him, Trump said at a rally that he had "passionate supporters". Again, more disgusting racism, and if you don't think that's racism, you need to see a specialist immediately before your head goes septic with fascism.
12. Heaped abuse on Khizr Khan, father of a US soldier who died in the line of duty. Remember how Trump got four student deferments and then a bogus medical release instead of serving? Yeah, total bullshit patriot there.
13. Attacked the judge presiding over the Trump University fraud case because the judge was Hispanic. Again, racism, and I'm not even out of May 2016 with this litany.
14. More than one beauty pageant contestant has accused Trump of inappropriately entering dressing areas and/or kissing and groping them without consent. In some cases, the contestants were under the age of 18. That's known as "inappropriate sexual conduct" or also as "disgustingly lecherous."
15. "Grab them by the pussy."
16. In spite of the fact that the Central Park Five were exonerated via DNA evidence, Trump insisted that they were still guilty. Total bullshit which, of course, is what his followers want. Nothing but the pure flow from the back of the bull.
17. “I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore, I’m inspecting it. You know they’re standing there with no clothes. And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.” <-- so he admitted in 2005.
18. Used both the political campaign and office to promote businesses of family members, the first being unethical and the second being a violation of the emoluments clause.
19. Paid a $25 million settlement in the Trump University fraud case... the charges of fraud stemmed from the university not being accredited, but representing itself as such.
20. Claimed he won the popular vote in 2016. Once again, bullshit so fresh, you'd have to be kissing that bull's anus to get it any fresher.
21. Had Jared Kushner and Michael Flynn meet with the Russian Ambassador to establish a "line of communication" prior to taking office as president. That's called "illegal" and "highly suspicious."

So that's the list up to the end of December 2016.

But if you want some more recent bullshit from Trump, here you go:

October 31, 2018 – Donald Trump tweeted a racist political ad depicting an undocumented immigrant who had been convicted of murdering two police officers. The ad featured the tagline, “Democrats let him into our country. Democrats let him stay.” Luis Bracamontes, the convicted man, had a history of crime and was originlly released by a sheriff’s department that was headed by Republican Joe Arpaio. He later illegally re-entered the United States during the presidency of George W. Bush.

Support a man like this and say there's no excuse for AOC? Puh-leez!

Come on ZZZ... Why on earth are you still trying to make this a political thing... Stupidity knows now party lines. She'd be just as dumb if she'd be a conservative.

To me it has nothing to do with politics...that woman is just plain stupid. There is no defence for that and it is clear that you see that too as all your trying to do is change the conversation to Trump...who has nothing to do with this topic anyways...no one here was talking about Trump.

But here's the sad truth...stupidity is the new cool in politics. The more stupid ideas you have and the more outragious are your views and the more idiotic comments you make the more visibility you get and as a result you'll get votes, from people who either are equally stupid or who just don't care about the politics or opinions and are just voting for the person who is "famous"...That's not only happening in the US either...it happened in the past elections here too.

No, it's a thread about stupid, so I'm posting the stupid stuff Trump says. That comment is stupid because, DUH, the definition of an island is a land mass surrounded by water. Specifying ocean water doesn't get any bonus points, as the *type* of water is irrelevant for that landmass' island status.

But, yeah, it's easy to find stupid things Trump says. He comes up with them pretty much every day, several times a day. Like when the Notre Dame Cathedral burned, there was this stupid:

"Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!"

Of course, that was stupid because that could have destroyed the entire building. As Walter Sobchak said in The Big Lebowski, "Shut the fuck up, Donny. You're out of your element."

Interesting.

Alexandria Ocasia-Cortez is just one of 27 United States Representatives from the state of New York. New York has 6.2% of the representation of the entire House of Representatives (there's 435 of them).

So, AOC's thoughts/opinions/voice/stupidity only represents New York's 14th congressional district, and in the larger context of the House of Representatives, 1/435th. I'm not even throwing all of Congress in there.

Donald J. Trump is one of one President of the United States Executive branch. His thoughts/opinions/voice/stupidity represents 100% of the entire country to the rest of the world, and 100% of the United States government to 100% of the citizens of the United States.

Stupidity is stupidity...but when comparing AOC stupid with DJT stupid it has to be understood that one has more impact than the other.

I don't really follow this logic though. The sheer ammount of air time that hag gets is staggering for just a 1/435...so her stupidity does impact a whole lot more than just few New Yorkers.

And the problem there is that the more stupid shit she spews out the more air time she gets...it's a vicious cycle. And that is something I just don't understand.

Also the president in a bipartisan system never represents 100% of the people...only 50% at best.

Typhon alluded to the same thing - and you're both right. She gets an enormous amount of airtime, way out of proportion to her position. So everyone on the planet gets to listen to her crap.

Of course, her inane deportment is what drives the vicious cycle you mentioned. Media outlets want advertising dollars, and the more viewers they get the more advertising dollars they can demand. And what better to draw viewers than a train wreck?

My hope is that there are enough people in this world capable of doing their research, applying critical thinking skills, and coming to their own conclusions. Rather than taking media pap shoved down their collective throat as the unvarnished truth.

Also the president in a bipartisan system never represents 100% of the people...only 50% at best.

Sure, it is a bipartisan system - but once you're the Prez you represent everyone. Supposedly. :)

My oldest granddaughter graduated from high school this afternoon. Well, walked and received her diploma, etc. It was great to see, and brought me back to when I graduated and just how much more sophisticated she seemed versus how much of a moron I was during that time of my life.

Agreed. The problem ofcourse is that there really aren't enough people who do that research...if there would be she would have never been elected in the first place. But then again she wasn't elected on her merits anyways.

Yeah I know that's what a president is supposed to do and I think in most countries it does work, but in the US president very rarely manages to unite the country, quite often the opposite.

3 guys stole a cash register and a bowl of macaroni salad. Police were able to track them because the thieves were eating macaroni salad (and spilling some) all along their escape route.

Oh lord no. I make sure I move where there's no HOA. If I paint my house bright purple, I might get mean looks from the neighbors, but that's where it will stop! I believe that as long as I keep my grass cut and my house in good repair, I'm a good neighbor and I'm maintaining property values. Same for everyone else on my street. Beyond that, the owner should be the one to decide what to do and how to decorate that property.

I've seen two of the Star Wars movies. I saw Star Wars at the theater when it came out, and did the same with The Empire Strikes Back.

Did not see Return of the Jedi, and I don't even know the names or sequences of the newer movies. How many are there now, eight or nine?

“Desperate Housewives” actress Felicity Huffman received her sentence in the college admissions scandal today.  Judge Indira Talwani sentenced Huffman to 14 days in jail. The actress has also been ordered to pay a $30,000 fine, be on a supervised release for a year, and perform 250 hours of community service.

Huffman was one of a handful of parents accused by prosecutors for using illegal means to help her child get into college. “Full House” star Lori Loughlin was also charged in the case.

While Loughlin chose to fight her charges, Huffman pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges for paying $15,000 to up the score on her daughter’s SAT score.

Why didn't she just use the money for private tutors?   :))

The Irish sense of humor

Irishman Shay Bradley, a Defense Forces veteran, was intent on ensuring that those who gathered to bid him a final farewell left with a smile on their faces.

Bradley pulled a memorable prank on family and loved ones when a pre-recorded message was played at his funeral in Dublin — Bradley’s daughter said that it was his dying wish to have it played.

In the message, Bradley can be heard calling out as if he was stuck in his coffin.

“Hello, hello – let me out!” he shouts in the recording, which included the sound of him knocking on the coffin lid.  “Let me out! It’s f—ing dark in here,” Bradley continues, as mourners begin cracking up in laughter.

The daughter, Andrea Bradly, shared a video of the prank on Facebook.

“Always the pranksters, ya got them good Poppabear and gave us all a laugh just when we needed it!! I will love you forever,” read the video caption.  The hashtag #Shayslastlaugh was included.

The video has been viewed over a million times and Andrea left a heartfelt message, explaining how her father, who she called a “legend,” would have been overjoyed at the response.

Fun With Milk   :)

Florida man arrested after fight over whether almond milk is better than whole milk

A Florida man was arrested Sunday after a debate over whether almond milk is better than whole milk became violent, according to Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Garcia and his cousin were verbally arguing over whether almond milk or whole milk is superior before things took a more violent turn, CBS 12 reported Tuesday.  When his cousin refused to back down, Garcia allegedly “became enraged at the victim for disagreeing with him,” according to the arrest document.  Garcia reportedly punched his cousin’s forehead, receiving a blow to the shoulder in return.  Garcia then “proceeded to pull out a light blue pocket knife” and chased his cousin throughout their yard before cutting his torso, the arrest document states.

The affidavit does not specify which person was arguing in favor of which type of milk.

The two men were separated until officers arrived on the scene, the Miami Herald reported.
After being read his rights, Garcia denied using the pocket knife and told officers that his cousin “thinks he is better than the whole family,” according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Upon searching Garcia, deputies located a light blue pocket knife in his right pants pocket, which they submitted as evidence.

Garcia was arrested and charged with aggravated battery Sunday, according to NBC2 News.
